Will my 2004 volvo xc90 have a message indicator when timing belt is bad?

I seriously doubt the code was for the belt. It could have been for something the belt drives. If you can find out what the code was we can advise.
And no the computer will not set a code for the timing belt. Most companies recommend replacing the timing belt at 60,000 to 80,000 miles.

Replace the antifreeze with Toyota Lifetime, change the diff fluid, some dealers recommend tranny flush at 100K, change the serpentine belt. Be prepared, you have WS tranny fluid, the flush is $200+

I am considering purchasing a 2004 Mazda Tribute that appears to be in good condition, with 94000 miles. What should I check out or what should I be concerned about?

I couldn't find many complaints against the car itself. I would try to get a maint record from the owner if you can. Especially the belts, see if he changed them at 60,000. If not, just a visual insp, of all belts, or just the serpentine belt, the water pump belt is under the cover. The tranny fluid, oil, coolant, brake and steering fluids, battery water, etc, basic stuff. If you were worried about anything, I would start to replace, some of those things, not all at once, but maybe one a month, tranny flush, filter, oil for sure, and then belts. Hope this helps.

ON THIS CAR WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT NEED TO BE CHANGED ?

your timing belt needs to be replaced every 90,000 miles on the older cars they are to be replaced at every 60,000 miles. but if it was me i would do every 60k just because breaking a timing belt can cost you a motor and for your camery that can cost up to 2000 for a rebuilt motor.

I have 151,000 miles on my 2002 4cyl Camry and have not changed the timeing or the sepeitine belt: Is it time to have it done?

Hi:
It is overdue time to change your timing belt and waterpump, as you are on borrowed time on the timing belt. The waterpump and tensioner should be changed along with the timing belt, as they can ruin a new timing belt if they fail. Your serpentine belt should be inspected and replaced if needed too.
