Did someone remove the rotor ? remove the cap and verify the distributor rotates when you crank the engine , and that the rotor is there , i doubt you have all bad plug wires , not even likely , so back to basics . a defective cap is possible .

99 jeep wranger 4.0 Engine.... Just started this week... At start up it is taking longer cranking time before engine fires up... It seems to be getting progressively worse with each time I start the...

if your battery, and starter and plugs and wires is ok, then i would give the vehicle a fuel pressure test to see if the fuel pressure is ok according to the specs, if it is ok, i would check the fuel injectors.

My 98 jeeop wranger is running hot changed serpentine belt, thermistate and cap What do I need to do

You must make sure the fan is working, if it has a electric fan make sure its coming on and if it has a regular fan make sure it spins fast , a slow spinning fan may be due to a bad fan clutch but if it electric it may be a bad fan or coolant fan switch. you replaced the thermostat and the rad cap, make sure the system is bleed and full, then check the fan operation. good day.

I have a 1998 jeep wrangler 4 cylinder it is not cranking because it is not firing what could be the cause?. I have pulled the plug wire off to see if there is fire but it is not getting fire to the plugs.

COIL PACK HAS PROBALLY CRAPPED OUT.IF IT ELECTRONIC. SEE IF THE COIL WIRE HAS SPARK IF SO COULD BE A BAD CAP WIRES AND PLUGS OR ROTOR OR TIMING HAS JUMPED ON THE ENGINE

Jeep wranger, clanging from front end when turning

Probably the CV joints just behind the brakes on each wheel. Try jacking the car up so that the wheel on that side is clear of the ground, grasp the wheel and rotate it back and forth. Do you get that noise? The joints are not repairable, just replace both sides.

Miss Firing

You might have a small leak in your vacuum system, check all of the hoses and plugged vacuum connections. Check your plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor. Sometimes a crack in the distributor cap will cause carbon to build up. Since carbon is an electrical conductor it might be jumping from one cylinder to another that is not in line with the firing order.
