Problem with rear Suspension IX35 Hylander

could be the rear shocks, but if you read the owners book. they don't suggest having heavy loads. 30kg does not seem like a lot. have you tried an 4 wheel alignment. first they can tell you if it needs one. second if there is a problem they should tell you what needs to be fix.

How do I change a wheel on a piece of rollon luggage?

if you have a rivet gun you might be able to change it out (pry the old rivets out and attach the new wheel). Remember though that handyman guns are lightweight and the new rivets will probably not be as strong as the originals.

How legal is it to remove a front passenger seat and replace it several months later?

it is illegal to carry unrestrained anything in the front of the car. If you need more space to carry luggage then get a van or small truck. It is not difficult to imagine what would happen to other motorists if you hit a pot hole and all that baggage fell on you and how you would loose control of the vehicle . Come on it is just common sense to restrain all items behind you . A car is designed to carry passengers --NOT FREIGHT.

Hi. My Toyota Camry 1995 was failed in Rear Breaks test on breaks' capacity measuring machine by NZ Vehicle Testing despite replacing Break Drums and Break Pads with new ones. The cuase is adhered to...

The prop/valve is located near the rear of the car and is inbetween the front brakes and the rear brakes. It's job is to adjust the braking force between the front and rear wheels. If only one person is in the car,you get more braking force at the front wheels. If you have 4 people in the car and the boot is full of luggage, you will get more brake force directed to the rear brakes. What it prevents is the car from spinning out from a rear wheel lockup.
It will be located by looking at the rear suspension.A smallish metal rod will connect the suspension to the chassis of the car and it will be hooked up with the brake lines. As weight is loaded to the rear suspension, the rod will slightly move a small lever on the prop/valve.This is where you will see the adjustment.
Hope this helps you

My 98 Cadillac DeVille rear air suspension system works great UNTIL I load weighted luggage in trunk and passengers in back seat. I then drive around for 15 to 45 minutes and thats when the rear end of the...

Common problem on all air suspension vehicles. It could be that there is a hairline crack in one of the shock bladders or that the pump is just too weak to pump up to it's intended pressure, a sensor or solenoid could also be bad.

Whenever I run into this problem I order a spring conversion kit for that vehicle, it is usually not worth spending $3000+ to repair the suspension.

www.Strutmasters.com sells the best kits, $327.00 for the rear. It also comes with a resistor so that your suspension light is not on.

Luggage compartment release button

I had a silimar problem an strange as it sounds replacing the rubber gasket around the top of the trunk fixed it. I had a leak and had to replace the gasket and also the remote wouldn't pop the truck. Jag dealer wanted to replace the entire trunk release mechanism (surprise, usual rip off) for several hundred dollars. I didn't do it and, good surprise, replacing the leaking gasket fixed the trunck release problem.
