Can i replace my throttle body with a used part?

Pepboys told me I should replace my throttle body with a brand new part. Could I replace it with a used throttle body? It would save me hundreds of dollars.

Just put in a new throttle body in my Pontic g6 2007 and the idles is too high and not going to normal wait 15mins to relean nothing it's still high when shift gears it jumps and then the idle goes down...

Two possibilities spring to mind; either the new throttle body is faulty or the engine management needs to be told there is a new part fitted. This increasingly applies with self-learning systems; the default values should be restored with the correct diagnostic equipment.

Other possibilities are; there was more faults present than just the throttle body or somehow the process of replacing the unit has created another fault.

If a basic code reader has been used to diagnose the faulty throttle body without that diagnosis being verified with more sophisticated equipment it could easily have been a misleading diagnosis.

A further possibility could be the new throttle body is incorrect, even though it might appear identical. Precise identification and exact part numbers are everything with throttle bodies.

I hope this helps.

How do i know when to replace trottle body

Told by whom? Why would you listen to or believe a thing,
unless your next to the truck & see the actual proof, with the
proper test equipment on the motor

What codes told that to someone & told you?

Unless the motor went on the throttle body,
it isn't the issue

Go to google-- you will see all the throttle bodies that
get changed & nothing is resolved except your $900
less in your wallet

Codes may point you to that conclusion, but on a ford it
is bad ignition coils,on yours the fused circuit to tacm
(motor on throttle body) or other issues

Research it using google

I've got a 328 i 2001 model,it was serviced two weeks ago but it does not have power, when i drive it seems like its cutting, the mechanic told me it needs air flow meter, the brand new one is expensive...

I would look at the air filter, if it wasn't replaced, If it's dirty replace it. Then check all the vacuum lines and hoses on the vehicle. A dirty enough filter or broken vacuum lines will pop a Mass air flow meter code. One other thing you can do is clean the mass air flow meter, use brake clean, do not use a brush on it. You can also clean in the throttle body as far as you can, open up the plate and clean behind it to, you can use a brush on this. When you clean the throttle it will take a few seconds to start the car. Try this first. MAF meters do get contaminated and will mess up the performance of cars.

P2176=Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position Not Learned
Did you use all you old sensors,or is some of them from the new engine,I would swap out the IAC sensor or check for wires not hooked up.
If it can't relearn to idle the Idle air control might be different then your old one,but its not registering with the computer

Where is the throttle body on a 96 maxima... and what do I need to access. My car sometime cutt-off while idling and sometime cuts out while driving like its getting no gas. I already changed my fuel...

The throttle body is where the carburetor used to be, in the middle top of the intake manifold where the air intake tube ends.
Use a major brand "Fuel throttle body cleaner" in your gas tank every 6 months or so. Don't use store brand. Ther eis also a spray for the linkage, etc. Use that too... and spray into the throttle body with engine running. Don't let the engine die while spraying into the throttle body.
