How do i bleed coolant system on mg zr 2003

after filling cooling system there is a bleed screw on the coolant pipe that runs round the end of the cylinder head.rh has you look under bonnet 8mm head,loosen that or remove it may be blocked! the heater can give problems if you have completely drained the system or have had a major leak it may be airlocked! make sure the heater is set to hot, run engine until coolant flows from bleed screw, close bleed screw, remove coolant cap carefully,and top up.leave to stand for 20 mins or so. re top up run engine @2500 revs if the heater is cold and you have no bleed screw on the heater hose. there is a valve that fails in the heater hose bypassing the heater matrix.that may need replacing if the heater is cold, hope this helps.

How to bleed an air pocket out of a heater line

there should be bleed screws where the rad hoses join to water pump,thermostat housing ,also run engine with the heater turned to full heat when doing the bleeding as can get air pocket in heater matrix

No heat

you may have a air lock in your cabin heater, or cabin heater is clogged. first try to bleed air in system by raising the front of car. le *** idle and try to bleed system with bleeding screw on radiator or where ever it is. if this wont help you need a new cabin heater. it is really common problem on older cars.

Changed thermo sat was bleeding out of air and coolent and then it stop bleeding out coolent and temp gage runs over half way and its blowing out cold air why

There is still air in your cooling system and it is either in the heater core or blocking it. Turn the heater on max. heat and the fan on high and start the car and re-bleed the air from the system. It may take a while but you will get hot air from the heater and by then the air should be out of the system. Hope this helps.

My heater works on and of and my temp gage keeps going up and down just changed my thermostat what could it be

Did you bleed air out good after thermostat change, as well as have heater on while refilling the system? If not, leave cap off, run from cold and refill as necessary, with heater on, and if you have a bleed screw, re-bleed system, after heater running and engine warms up.

My 2002 Ford Thunderbird is overheating. Have changed the thermostat but still overheats. My 2002 Thuderbird is overheating....had the Hydraulic Cooling Fan replaced 3 months ago.

You most likely have air in the system. These things can be a royal pain to get the air bleed out of the system.
Look back next to the brake booster and you will see a rubber tube with a screw cap in the end of it(this is the heater bleed), also on the front of the intake area you will see a black tube with an allen sloted cap.
Remove the slotted cap and screw the screw cc on the rubber tube. Add coolant to the coolant jug allowing the system to equalize until no more coolant can be added. Add as much coolant as possible to the engine fill( the sloted cap near intake). The heater air bleed will remain open.Replace the engine fill cap.Start the engine and turn the heater to MAX position.Close the heater air bleed when a steady stream of coolant comes from it, during engine idle. Allow the engine to idle for five minutes, add coolant to the degas bottle as needed to maintain the cold fill MAX mark.Reopen the heater air bleed to release any entrapped air and close again. Maintain engine speed of 2,000 rpm for 3-5 minutes or until hot air comes from the heater.Return to idle and verify hot air is still coming from the heater. Set the heater temperature setting to 75° F and allow the vehicle to idle for two minutes.Shut the engine off and allow to cool.After the engine has cooled, add coolant to the degas bottle to bring the level to the cold fill MAX mark. This should have the air out of the system.
