Most likely it needs to be reprogrammed. Here is that procedure:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale; it should be flashing. If it is not flashing, then you need a scan tool to repair this. If it is flashing...proceed.
4. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn ON for 5 seconds and then OFF.
5. Once to turns OFF, Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF, and wait 7-10 seconds.
Then: Repeat steps 1 through 5, 2 more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes
6. After the 3rd time you turn off the ignition, wait 7-10 seconds and then start the engine.
Good luck

My 2006 dodge stratus wont start

If the engine will not crank over with the starter then have the battery and starter tested first and then go from there. If the theft system is the problem you will have a warning light on in the dash or a message on alerting you to the problem in the anti theft system.

this sounds stupid, but works to override most theft systems. Simply lock yur drive door, and from the outsie, unlock it with the key.
Again..i know it sounds dumb, but works for most vehicles.

I have a 1995 Thunderbird. The theft system won't let me start the car if I only have the key. I have to use my remote to unlock the doors and then start the car. Is there a way to bypass the theft system?

of course. the theft system is located under the dash on the drivers side. once you have found the theft system simple pull the fuse for it. that will disable the theft system but you wont have to worry about using your keyless entery then your key. if you do not understand the instructions i have given please call 419 689 1114 for futher assistance.

1994 ford explorer limited anti-theft

Two tips:
* If your anti-theft system is sounding (horn honking/lights flashing)you press the panic button on your key fob to shut it off.

* If your anti-theft system is armed (but not triggered) it is disarmed when you unlock the door(s) using your unlock button on your keyfob, the key pad on the driver's door, or your key.

Hope help with this. Good luck (remember rated this).
