Question about 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country
I own a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. The power steering pump went out on me today. Here is the problem: Today being a Sunday and Monday being a holiday there are no parts stores are open in my area(92627) either today or tomorrow. Therefore, here is my question: Can I drive my Jeep with a broken power steering pump without causing in other damage(S). Please hit me back with an answer asap. Thank you.
I don't know what the date was when you inquired. But, if you drive it will be o.k. as long as there was no fluid loss. You will just have to overcome the stiff steering. If you lost all of your fluid you will seize the pump and then it will throw the belt and you will be walking because your water pump will cease to turn and the engine will over heat.
