Why do you want to replace the throttle body? The TB itself does not go bad, maybe some of the attached parts might, but these can be replaced separately. What indications are you getting in performance, or is the Check Engine light on? Please provide more details.

How do i locate and replace throttle sensor

Locate your air intake. At the opposite end from where the air enters you will find your Throttle Body. There should be two sensors attached to your throttle body. The Throttle Positioning Sensor, and the Idle Air Control Valve.
On my vehicle the TPS is located at the bottom of the throttle body. The IACV is located on the side.
Since I cannot see your particular installation you will have to be the judge as to whether to remove the throttle body or not.
I have learned that it is somewhat easier to remove the Throttle Body in order to replace either of these sensors. And there will be less frustration with dropped bolts and or tools.
Also you will get the sensors installed properly and tightly, then you reinstall a single unit. Be sure to inspect the gaskets on the Throttle Body, and the IACV, replace if damaged in any way.

Do you have to replace the throttle body when you replace the tps

Hi OC, I'm glad to help!
OC, the best way I know to help you with this problem is to tell you to call the dearlership and if they offer the TPS without the Throttle Body, then yes you can replace the TPS only. NOTE: If they only sell the Throttle Body and don't offer the TPS by itself then you'll need the entire Throttle Body. If your asking if its OK just to replace the TPS the answer is YES, unless you have a problem with the Throttle Body itself like a vacuum leak or something like that. Hope this helps and have an awesome day OC.

Have a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant and need intstuctions on how to replace the Idle Air Control Valve

You'll have to remove the throttle body to replace the idle air control (IAC) valve. First, disconnect the negative ground cable from the battery. Then remove the vacuum line and air duct intake. Then disconnect the IAC and throttle position sensor (TPS) electrical connections. Remove the coolant hoses that are connected to the IAC. Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body. Now, remove the 4 bolts that hold the throttle body to the manifold and remove. Be careful with the gasket located between the throttle body and manifold and replace it in the same position. On your clean work surface, turn the throttle body over and remove the 4 phillips head screws holding the IAC to the throttle body. Clean the parts with a dry cloth but do not use solvents on the IAC or TPS. That's it!

Turn on ac and the motor dies

Sounds like the throttle body is going out or just dirty. It has an electronic throttle body that controls the idle. I would remove the air tube that comes from the air cleaner from the throttle body. Prop the throttle blade open, clean it and the throttle body with carb. cleaner, rags, and a toothbrush. If this doesn't take care of it I would replace the throttle body.
