I do not recommend remote start systems for manual transmissions. You would have to bypass the clutch interlock to enable the starting circuit. If you left the vehicle in gear and used the remote you could do damage to the vehicle or other property (hopefully the parking brake holds the car in place). I have never seen a factory remote system on a manual transmission, to much liability....

I've ssen diodes in larger diesel trucks with this problem and the diode is under the hood near or in the fuse panel. If i remember it was a blue diode. Good luck on this one it took us about a month to get a replacement. Let me know if you find it, i'd like to know where it is as well, no one in my shop has ever had to research it before this.

I have a 92 sentra lights come on but when i turn key nothing happens. Starter good ,relay good, head lights don't dim when you turn key . Car won't turn over at all

If by lights, you mean the dash lights come on, then ignition switch must be getting power. If dash is not working with key on, check the 30 amp fuse link which powers the ignition switch.
If switch is good and starter is good, the start wire from switch goes to, if automatic, to inhibitor relay (the park/neutral function) and then to starter. There is also an inhibitor switch on the shifter or on the transaxle that turns on the inhibitor relay when key is on and shifter in park or neutral. The inhibitor switch is powered by a 10 amp fuse D.
If you have a manual transmission, the start wire from ignition switch goes to the clutch interlock relay and then to the starter. This relay is turned on by the clutch interlock switch on the clutch pedal.
You can check for power on either relay, the inhibitor relay or the clutch interlock relay, with a test light. Pull the relay out, have the key held in start position. Now both relays would have power showing on two terminals where the relay plugs in. If inhibitor relay only has power on one terminal or no power at all, either ignition switch is not sending power or fuse D is out or the inhibitor switch is not working right. If clutch interlock switch does not have power on two terminals either the ignition switch is not sending power or the clutch interlock switch is bad.
If the relay checks are good, check for power on the small wire to starter with key held in start. If you have power there, the starter solenoid must be out.

Clutch interlock switch

I'm just showing two wires on the clutch switch and you would connect the two to bypass the switch.
One is pink and the other is pink and white or red and lt blue.

I have a 5 speed transmission and my clutch neutral safety switch is going out. can I bypass this switch

well to clear things up, its not a "neutral safety switch", manual vehicles have a clutch safety switch!
And yes you can bypass it, follow the clutch pedal up behind the dash, you'll find the switch. pull the plug and "short" the two connections(of the plug) with a piece of wire.

What makes you say it is "going" bad? Just curious, normally it'll just stop working!

1990 nissan pickup will not stsrt untille preeing the clutch interlock switch on dash, then start up.

try pressing the clutch pedal down at different heights and see if it will start, if so then you will need to adjust the linkages to the clutch pedal. if it still won't start, then you will need to replace the neutral safety switch.

How do you remove and install a neutral safety switch for a 1993 mitsubishi Expo SP manual transmission?

I presume you mean the clutch interlock switch on the pedal assembly. There is no neutral safety switch for a manual transmission. The interlock switch requires the clutch to be pressed when starting.

The switch has two 12mm (or 14mm?) nuts to adjust the position of the switch. There's a wiring harness connector so the switch and short cable can be removed.

Can I simply bypass my clutch switch? the truck is not driven much, maybe 30 miles a month, checking on my livestock, so can i just bypass the clutch switch? Someone said I could. thanks

yes you can. this has to be done for a vehicle with a remote starter and a manual transmission. follow the clutch pedal up to the switch and unplug the harness. then install a jumper like a paper clip and tape it up good. now secure it out of the way. good luck.....scott
