Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado
Use a short piece(maybe 2-3 inches) of vacuum hose just big enough to fit on terminal of plug. this should help you align the plug to the hole in the head - if that dont work,get a spark plug hole re-threader tool,maybe previous owner did something he shouldn't have

We'll give that a try. We're very hesitant to re-thread, don't want to destroy anything. The old spark plug came out very easily, so we believe it was ok. In comparing the two plugs, there is no significant difference between the threads. We're really confused by this.
