SOURCE: The Service Engine light comes on and off

wireguy212 is correct. I would suggest that you stop by an O'Reilly's or Auto Zone and ask to use their Code Reader. Most places will lend it FREE.... This will give you an IDEA of what might be setting the codes. I hate to send you to a Dealership because of the age of your vehicle and the cost involved. Try my first suggestion.
I'm betting it is a bad O2 sensor or something emission related. . .
Good Luck.

Fiat radio problems!!

This is engine interference. Depending on the age of the vehicle, suppressor leads to the plugs may help. Re-locating the aerial may also be effective- try replacing the current aerial with an unmounted one, and move it around the vehicle with the engine running at driving revs.

1998 expedition yesturday was low on fuel got gas drove with headlights on got 4 miles down road vehicle died thought was bad gas 3hrs later vehicle would run but abs light and brake light would flash

There is a problem in the electrics of the vehicle. First place to start is to check the alternator drive belt for condition and tension. Next place is the battery terminals and condition and tension . Third place is to have a load test done on the battery as it may have an internal short and drawing all the current from the alternator. In effect when you add power requirements ( park lights then brake lights then headlights) you are actually using more current than the alternator can supply to keep the engine system running.

Reuduced engine power light comes on with the engine light, and the car sputters and stalls

The "Reduced Engine Power" light coming on in combination with the "Check Engine" light simply means that there is a system malfunction and the computer is limiting your throttle so you cannot accelerate the engine. The manufacturer's explaination of this is to "protect the catalytic converters from being damaged." Although this is very true, the whole reason they have gone to fly-by-wire throttle control is just so they can use software to shut the throttle down and keep you from continuing to drive the car with the check engine light on like hundreds of thousands of people do all the time...VERY EFFECTIVE, but EXTREMELY INCONVINIENT to the vehicle owner - especially if you are not one of the ones that would continue to drive with warning lamps going off all over your dashboard. So to put it simply, we all now have to suffer for those that do not care enough about their vehicles to keep them running properly....

OK, I'll get off of my soap-box now......

Rob, there is nothing anybody can tell you about why this is happening without first scanning your computer network and collecting fault codes to see which of the many systems monitored by the engine computer (as well as other control modules) is malfunctioning. I could take a guess, but chances are about 600 to one that I would be wrong. (Just being honest here)

Please also review the following article: Why Is My Engine Light On?

Wish I could be more help.
If you can get the codes, I can probably help you to figure it out.

Gauge light on?

Gauge light illuminates when the ignition is switched on. It should extinguish as soon as the engine starts.
If it illuminates with the engine running, it indicates a malfunction with the engine management system. Have this checked as soon as possible.
If it flashes when driving, reduce the vehicle speed immediately until the light illuminates constantly. If it continues to flash, avoid heavy acceleration and high engine speed, stop the vehicle and have it checked immediately.
On some vehicles this light may be red – again stop the vehicle and seek assistance.
If it is safe to do so, try stopping the vehicle, switching off the engine, wait two minutes, then restarting the engine to reset the engine management system.
With the light illuminated, the vehicle is still safe to drive as long as no other faults are apparent with the engine. Have the vehicle checked by a dealer or garage as soon as possible to avoid any damage being caused to the catalytic converter.

96 problem ligh HELP!!!!

That is the warning light that means that continued driving with the engine in its current condition will destroy the motor.

I've seen it twice on my Saab: once when I blew a main coolant return line, and once when I had a major oil leak that made the oil pour straight through the engine and out.

Do not drive your vehicle until you have determined the source of the problem, unless you want to buy a new engine.

If you'd like help diagnosing the actual cause of the light, feel free to contact me.
