Yes your keys have a transponder in them you will have to get a locksmith or take it to the dealer to have them program the key to the car.

How to bypass ignition switch on 2006 nissan maxima 3.5 lost keys

Hello Jam mmmm,

I have seen products that allege this can be accomplished...

And frankly... IF COST WERE NO OBJECT...
and YOUR ELECTRONIC SKILL peerless...
I don't doubt that t could be done.

However...

back down here in this vale of REALITY...
Your options are call a locksmith to where you are or
have your car towed to a DEALERSHIP and pay twice
as much...

If you get on AMAZON or eBay and check how little it would have cost to AVOID your current situation ... it would be MOST VEXING... my best cut charge = $6

Regardless ... do shop around: you can still save HUNDRES merely by checking & weighing your options.

Locked keys in 1999 lincoln town car executive and no keyless entry. can I gain entrance without an expensive locksmith?

Hello Jennifer Jackson...

No... even LINCOLN windows are harder to break
(sorry... your LINCOLN is pretty secure).

Worse... the best price I've paid to get a double sided
PATS (passive anti-theft system) key cut = $6.

Bring your own key... But this was all about the price of PREVENTING your current situation... (oops).

If your ONLY key is truly "inside"...
Your goose is pretty much cooked... The cost of
the LOCKSMITH is pretty trivial compared to your
alternatives... Dealers will zing you MUCH BETTER
than your "expensive locksmith"...

But what ever you do... (my recommendation)... Since
you prefer not to be prepared... (no door code or FOB)
Don't pass on the opportunity to have that same SMITHY
at least tell you about your door code POSSIBILITIES
or at least program a remote FOB for you ...

A RESPONSIBLE "expensive locksmith" will
explain the WISDOM of NEVER having less than 2 (TWO) transponder keys. (by reading your owners manual you can program the FOBs yourself (FREE).

How do you manage the "no" keyless entry...?
I remain pretty sure the number pad... & KEY FOB
(wireless transmitter) were standard equipment...

2 SPARE keys minimum... ALWAYS.

I lost my ignition key to my 1995 Pontiac grand am Se. Will any 1995 ignition set sold on the internet fit my car?

Might fit but if your car is fitted with a passive immobiliser that uses a transponder embedded in the key don't expect it to start the engine until it has been coded.

I strongly suggest you have a chat with your local dealer or auto locksmith and gather some basic information before you spend any money.

I HAVE LOST MY OLD KEYS, THEREFORE I DON'T HAVE ANY TRANSPONDER TO REPLACE WITH

If not starting then you have to check out the components in the ignition and fuel delivery systems. Without gas and/or spark there is not an engine on this planet that will run.

How do you replace a lost key for a lexus rx 330

You need to bring the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to a Lexus dealer, where they will check that against a stolen car database, and ensure you receive the correct key. This key usually has an internal transponder-computer chip to match the vehicle. Not inexpensive but there's pretty much no way around this.

Hope this helps.

W reg 2000 almera not starting, changed the battery on my almera and now it wont start, red light on top of dash stays on solid. got 2 transponder keys and neither of them will start the car. thanks

I might be a few months too late for you, but someone else may benefit.

Problem is a bit vague...

GOT 2 keys.... 2 new keys or the 2 keys that used to work ?

A locksmith should be able to re-instate keys that previously worked, because the keys should be fine, just the system is confused.

when battery was disconnected, was anything on the steering column serviced ?

If this was helpful, please post a nice review for City Lock in Boulder Colorado listings on Google Maps, Yahoo etc. This listing will link you to my website as well. On my website are resources for finding a legitimate locksmith near you. Be sure you are hiring a REAL locksmith!

Thank You

My key is in lock mode in the ignitiom it is beeping and i cannot turn it at all to start the car up?????

Hello there, it sounds like you have a damaged ignition cylinder, or you had a key made recently that was not cut properly. Did someone spray Wd40 in there, as that will cause all kinds of problems. I am a locksmith and I deal with ignitions a lot. It may be repairable , but Nissan ignitions are expensive to replace if you get one from the dealer. Thank you , Quinn Texada.
