SOURCE: GMC Jimmy 2001 free repair manual for the heater

Not to make it sound all to easy as it's not the black case on the passenger sidehas to be opened ( remove all the bolts) and remove the two heater hoses and then with the cover opened take out the bolts holding the strapes that hold the core in the box and stick in the new one and bolt on the straps and close up the box. .. It's real hard to get to all the bolts and the case is gluged together with a black sticky poddy that's called Dum-Dum. once you get it on you you'll know why it's called that. Put your hoses back on and make sure you get the cooling system completly full and your gppd to go.

SOURCE: I need a diagram on

You didn't say what make and model, or year vehicle you are wanting this for. So I can't really answer this. You may want to pick up a repair manual at the parts store when you go to buy your core, it will have all that information plus more that will help you out.

SOURCE: I need to replace my

here is an honest answer, this is not a job for someone who is not 'mechanically inclined'. It is very difficult to do, very difficult to reach and it has a lot of components that will need to be disassembled to even get it out. best thing to do is bypass it (it's warmer weather now) by taking the hoses off the core as they enter the firewall, and joining them with some kind of pipe/adapter. You will not have heat (for now) and you can figure out a way to get it replaced in the next 6 months and still drive it without antifreeze on your passenger side floor. I have been working on cars for over 25 years, some of the most brutal jobs I have ever done were heater cores, trust me.

Its a great investment if you want to do things yourself, and if it's too complicated it should give you an idea as to what to expect from a mechanic

Where do i get step by step digrams for changing out heater core on 2005 mini cooper?

Other than purchasing a shop manual for your car I know of no place you can get step by step instructions. Changing the heater core is a labour intensive job on any vehicle. All I can tell you if you do not way to buy a shop manual is to remove enough of the dash in order to gain access to the core. take photos if necessary in order to remember how everything goes back together. Be very careful and do not break any plastic parts. Good luck as these are always tough jobs. That is why it costs so much to have this done by a professional. Wish I had more help to offer.
