Question about 2003 Jaguar X-Type

1 Answer

Hello. I am new to the forums. Thank god I found them. I have a 2002 Jag X-type and it is also acting like its going to die when it reaches 3000RPM or higher. This did not start happening until a amber light came on saying ( AUTO CRUISE NOT AVAILABLE) .Car drives and sounds great until it reaches the 3000 mark. PLEASE help me with this problem, before I end up spending more money than I have. I noticed a few of you mentioned a KNOCK SENSOR. Can ya all please write me back and help verify my problem.

Hi.
I recommend your first line of attack, is to clear the on board computers fault finding memory.

Try disconnecting the battery + & - terminals.

Turn the ignition key several times to erase the computers memory.

Reconect the battery posative + terminal first then the negative -- and start the car.

Your fault code, will hopefully not return.

Hope this is of help.

Good Luck !

John.

1) you must the ignition timing ti the m .specificaitonit does not matter that you have EI.
2) test the wire spark plug
3) test the spark plug and adjust the gap
4) test the IGNITION COIL
5) test the EI Module.
6) will be a good idea to scanner +computer test
7) test the sensors for faulty.

Loud noise from rear of car

It happened in our car as well. The problem with our car was the bushings on the rear suspension needed to be replaced.

It is not an inexpensive problem and one that only the dealer could fix, at least according to a couple of shops I spoke with b4 I went to the dealer. With an alignment ( 4wheel - ours is AW), it costs around $900.
