How do you replace the bulb behnd the cluste on a 1994 Honda Acord, I removed the two top screws and the AC knobs, does the radion and console have to come out as well?

yes, the radio has to come out, as 2 of the trim panel screws are hidden by the radio.

1990-95 Accord
See Figures 7, 8 and 9
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If so equipped, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
  2. Lower the steering wheel to its lowest position.
  3. Remove the center console.
  4. Remove the ashtray and ashtray holder.
  5. Remove the radio/tape player.
  1. Remove the coin box, switches and dash light controller from the instrument panel.
  2. Remove the mounting screws securing the instrument panel. This is a large, formed piece of plastic-don't crack it.

Fig. Fig. 8: Instrument panel retaining screw locations on 1994-95 Accords

  1. Lay a protective piece of cloth over the steering wheel pad.
  2. Remove the four screws holding the instrument cluster. Pull the cluster forward enough to allow access to the wiring connectors.

11_30_2011_2_09_03_am.gif

Fig. Fig. 9: The instrument cluster is retained by four screws

  1. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and remove the instrument cluster.
  2. Individual instruments may be removed from the cluster after it is removed from the car. Avoid damage to any terminals or the printed circuit board.

To install:
  1. Install the gauge cluster; connect the wiring before it is fully in place. Install the retaining screws.
  2. Install the instrument panel. Make sure it is correctly placed. Install the retaining screws.
  3. If applicable, install the air vents.
  4. Install the coin box, switches and dash light controller.
  5. Install the radio, ashtray holder and ashtray.
  6. Install the console.
  7. If applicable, enable the SRS.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.

How do u get the wood part around the cd player off in a 2000 diamante

1. Put on the emergency brake and put the transmission in neutral (key must be on, brake must be pressed). Having the shift lever in neutral allows the console to clear it.

2. Remove the front cupholder by pulling it up and out. Set it aside in safe place so you won’t accidentally scratch or break it while continuing your job.

3. Clean out the coin compartment and leave the door open.

4. The console trim pieces are held in place with metal clips. Reach through the opening at the rear of the coin compartment and pull up on the lower console trim until it unsnaps. Continue to unsnap the lower console trim, rear to front. It hooks into the ashtray, so don't try to pull it up from there. Once you have unsnapped the trim from the console, it will pull back and out from the ashtray. Lift the lower console trim up and disconnect any wiring connectors, then remove it up and over the shift lever. Set it aside in a safe place.

5. Put the car back into park for now (key on, press brake, shift, then remove the key).

6. Reach under the bottom of the whole ashtray unit (not just the ashtray) and pull it back towards the rear of the car until it unsnaps, but don’t completely remove it yet. Remove the wiring connector from the ashtray and set the ashtray aside in a safe place.

7. Next, you are going to remove the center vent unit just above the AC controls. If your model has a thumbwheel on the left side of the vent unit, you must first unhook the cable. Use a light to look under the dash from the driver's side, find the end of the cable, unclip it and unhook it from the peg. If you have a problem identifying the cable, move the thumbwheel up and down while looking under the dash and you can see the cable end moving. Remember how it was installed so you can reconnect it later.

8. Now comes the hard part. Work your fingers into the area of the center vents just below the digital clock lens. Unsnap the vent unit by pulling it out towards the rear of the car. It may take some pulling, so be careful. Once the center vent unit unsnaps, remove it from the dash and set it aside in a safe place.

9. You now can see the upper and lower mounting screws for the center unit. Remove the screws, being careful not to drop the screws inside of the dash.

10. Carefully pull the center unit out a bit from the dash. You will have to disconnect all the wiring and a tube before you fully remove it.

11. Disconnect the wiring from emergency flasher, and pull the AC temperature sensor breather tube off.

12. Disconnect all the connectors from the AC unit and the radio. Use a flat blade screwdriver to press the tab on those connectors with one. The screwdriver will also help you pry those connectors out of their sockets. Remember how everything was connected so you can put it back later.

13. Once you have the connectors disconnected the center console unit can be removed from the dash. Set the unit face down on a soft surface and remove the screws that hold the trim in place. The radio is mounted by screws that go into each side.

14. Reassembly is the reverse of the above steps. Be careful to not overtighten any of the screws, or they may strip out their mounting holes.

How to take dash apart to get to the radio

The moulding around the radio removes quite easily. Remove the ashtray, 2 screws. Remove the slideout cupholder. 2 screws. The moulding around the radio pulls straight out. It has slideout or popout clips. Once that is removed, unscrew the 2 10 mm or philips screws that hold the radio in. Slide out the radio, another 10 mm ground screw on back, then unplug the antenna, 2 electrical connectors and that's it. I dont recommend an aftermarket radio without a schematic or someone that knows what they're doing. Like in the chiltons books, "reverse disassembly procedure to reassemble". Hope this helps

How do you remove the rADIO

First, remove the ashtray and gently pull the ashtray frame out of its clips. You should see three 8mm screws holding the bottom of the radio. Again with your fingers, gently remove the upper ac vent from its clips. Use your fingers for both operations. They pull straight out, but don't force too much. You will then find two screws holding the top of the unit. Remove them and the ac controls and radio will slide right out. the radio is held to the frame by 4 screws. Hope this helps..

After the ashtray is removed take your hand an feel under the wood grain unit for the 2 plastic wing nuts holding the wood grain in place. Remove them and gently lift the wood grain up and out of the way. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws holding the AC controls and Radio bracket. Place the gear shifter in drive to pull the whole unit out. Sounds like a lot but takes about 10-15 mins to complete.

I am trying to install a in dash cd player in my 2000 mitsubishi diamante and we cant get the stock stereo out its stuck i dont know if the wood part aroun the stereo comes out so we can get to the wires...

You need to pull the center vent out and the ashtray. Then you will need to unscrew the four screws and pull the radio and ac/heat controlls out at thesame time. Then on the backside of that there will be some more screws that must be removed.

Instrument lights, Heating AC unit 2002 Maxima

You have to take the dash cover off. (just like when you want to change your radio).
It's not really that hard, but most people are uncomfortable when it comes to working on dashboards.

The options are, the dealer (expensive) a auto stereo shop (mid price)

The majority of dash covers are hled on by little spring clips. and just a few screws (which always seem to be placed in unusual locations). Start with taking the ashtray out (if equiped) and look for screws hidden behind it. (can be screws, can be screws with hex heads). So it's look for fasteners, give a little tug on the dash, if it feels solid, look for more fasteners.

Note*** Always make sure to have a small tray to keep all of the parts in. Also, any time I work on dashboards, I always put a blanket across the seats/center console so that parts don't slip down between them.

I've done dash work for years, and there is no one "exact" way that they come apart.

You should disconnect the neg. battery cable and disarm the air bag. Remove the floor console and the front console panel, remove ashtray and ashtray holder, remove 2 screws holding the radio at the rear of the unit, carefully push unit out the front of the dash. When it clears enough, disconnect the antenna and multi pin connector. Remove the unit. Reverse to install. Enjoy the new sound system. countrycurt0
