THat is not a problem at all. THe temp can get over 200 degrees when climbing a hill in the summer...it will cool down OK with the electric fan!

SS w/3.8l engine. What would cause the first electric fan not run but when temp rises the second fan will come on?

The coolant fan should kick on when temp reaches 192 degrees. Have you changed your thermostat? The 2nd fan is for the a/c. If car is running hot, it's probably thermostat or cooling fan

I have a jaguar x type my a/c blows hot on one side cold on the other. The it blows heat on both sides then back to hot one side and cold on the other

1st you do realize that the zones on this auto are adjustable from side to side not just front to rear??? , 2nd this auto has an electronic temp control that auto selects whether or not it blows hot or cold on that sides seating area biased on the temp settings of the person in that seat (body temp) , I guess its possible that the dash control module for this could be defective , but its been my own experience that if no one is sitting in that seat it gets a little "confused" and seems to cycle between cold and hot , one can only feel this if you direct all the vents towards the drivers side , simple fix is not to cross direct the vents over to opp. sides , as it will maintain (if working properly) a comfortable setting on drivers side (what ever set temp is )

Put a meat thermometer in radiator and see what temp is or on top radiator hose should be about 192 to 210 if it is you have a door not working under dash. I don't know this truck but some have a valve in the heater hose

How do I know that Malibu 99 Radiator Thermostat needs replacing?

if you have little or no heat from your heater, the thermostat is open and bad, if it is stuck shut the temperature of the radiator up top will be colder by alot than the bottom-you can also check the top hose coming out of the radiator when the engine is warned up, it will not be very hot and the engine temp gauge will read very high. the best way to check a thermostat is to remove it and place it in a pan of water, heat it on a stove-a 192 degree thermostat starts to open at 192 ans should be fully open at 210 degrees.

My heater is blowing warm not hot air

Have you checked the thermostat to make sure it is working correctly.
Could be the blend door, but start with the t-stat to make sure the engine is at the correct operating temp.
The inlet to the radiator should be ~ 192 * F, you can use a laser type temp gun to check this. You can also do the SOTP hand check of the hose, or confirm with the dash temp gauge.

We bought a 1988 Chrysler LeBarron and cannot seem to get HOT air to blow. It is barely warm and we've replaced the thermostat, radiator, heater valve and we have checked the heater core and it has great...

Could be thermostat. Even though you had it replaced the recommened temp is 192. You probably have a thermostat with an alternative temp of 160 or 180. This will make your car run alot cooler than it should.

What should be the operating temp of Grand Cherokee on warm day? Mine sometimes runs 240-250 degrees

U didn't say the engine, if it is a 6cylinder then around 195-200 F, if a V8 they run very hot, around 225 F, so you have a problem, is the coolant clean? no rust present? I would suspect that you need the radiator pulled and roded out by a radiator shop.

Normal coolant temp for 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee city/highway V6

Your Jeep should have a 192 or 195 degree thermostat. Do u have to add coolant once in a while? If there is no coolant loss, no overheating problem, u shouldn't have to worry about it, it could be the temp. sending unit is not accurate. If it concerns u it would probably be worth it to remove the thermostat, check the temp rating on it(it should be stamped on it). Replace w/ a new one, and see what it indicates for temp then. Good luck, let me know what u find Curt

Heater only blows hot (well, warm) on full speed of fan

Replace the temp control on this car, it should be electrical control not cables.
