SOURCE: changed battery and no remote control

I have 94 JGC and the remotes have long since died and replacement batteries did not help. Everytime I lock the door I must use the key in the passenger side door (not the driver side) to disable the alarm and everything is ok. If I unlock the driver side it acts like you describe.

SOURCE: No power in any systems - anti theft?? How do you reset?

You should have a card with the set of keys with the reset code printed on. The other poss solution, which worked for me, was to disconnect the negative battery lead, wait for 30 seconds, and reconnect, the system should reset.

SOURCE: how do i override/reset anti theft system?

this does not sound like an antitheft problem. the SKIS systems in the jeeps will allow the truck to start, but it will turn off again after 5 seconds.

FYI if your jeep key is gray, it has the SKIS system. if it is a black key, it does not.

have you already done diagnostics for a no start? if you are lacking fuel or spark, you need to look elsewhere for the problem if it does not start at all. good luck!

Try Turn your vehicle on, while its on unhook the alarm box from behind the dash. if you attempt to do this without the vehicle on it will not work. an other solution would be to ground the purple and yellow wire on the drivers side door

Factory alarm 97 grand prix

1st the system alarm is intagrated into the engine control electronics, it can not be disabled without poss damage to ther systems and controls, 2nd the most common cause of your issue is the sensor in the ignition lock cylinder being defective, this is the most common issue on all GM anti-theft systems.
