Clean out your trunk! But seriously, you need to remove the cover panel inside the car closest to the where the bulbs are on the outside. The holes for the screws may be covered with plastic caps that can be pried off with a small screwdriver or pocket knife. THe screws should be exposed and they can be removed. The panel may extend under the floor carpet so you may have to lift it out of the way. The panel may also have snap fittings that are like that go into holes on another panel or into the frame of the car. The bulb backs should be exposed now and you can untwist each CAREFULLY and replace as needed.

SOURCE: 2005 Honda CRV dome light goes out, but not burned out

Without seeing it, I would guess that you have a problem with clean contacts. Especially in cars with smokers, the contacts of something like a fuse or a light bulb can become corroded just enough to stop the light from working. Wiggling it scrapes away the debris and allows for contact. I suggest that you take some steel wool and lightly scrub the contact points on both the light and the fixture. **Be sure to have all the doors closed so you dont short out the steel wool.** If you are concerned with the abrasive nature of the steel wool, a pencil eraser will sometimes work just as well. Either way, it just sounds dirty which is par for any car. Good luck!

SOURCE: How to change the whole headlight assembly on a 05 Honda CRV

You have to remove the front bumper and grill etc

There are 5 bolts holding the headlight assembly in place. 2 at the top and 3 underneath.

Remove the plastic cross piece by prising out the clips and then the grille clips too then unbolt the bolts eithr side under the wheel arch. The bumper is still fastened using cips. Pull the bumper forward to unclip.

What size light bulbs are used to replace behind temperature control panel (on the dials not the bottom buttons) on a 2005 CRV, are Sylvania bulbs available, or only a dealer part?

contact Sylvania direct on the net and quote the bulb size (dimensions)and wattage and ask if there is a aftermarket bulb to replace genuine ones with. As car manufacturers do not make bulbs there is every possibility that an after market will be available from the bulb manufacturer.

Bypass head light switch and see what you get. Three items can cause your problem . The head light switch, flasher relay , shorts in circuit. I would go with switch.

How to change my headlights on Honda 2005 CRV

easy cheesy! Ive changed mine twice. The headlights are small bulbs. Make sure you get the right one (hi-beam vs low-beam). Unplug connector at back of bulb / headlamp unit, remove rubber weather seal (pops right ot). The bulb is held in with a small wire clip that is hard to get back on but can be done. Its spring loaded. Drop wire clip, turn bulb assya 1/4 turn, and it comes right out. Remove bulb from holder and replace. Reverse steps and VOILA!
