Bcm and fuse box are one piece, located in front of center console, just under the heater controls.  Remove side panels from console on both sides.

SOURCE: bcm installation for saturn l series

The estimate for my 2000 Saturn LS-1 was around $500.00. I would suspect it should be around this much for your wagon since it is basically identical regarding the BCM. It is easy to get to the BCM so a relatively mechanically savvy person could change it on your own but it has to be programmed which will require the mechanic anyway.

The problem is that apparently, since Saturn has been dissolved the BCM's are getting hard to come by. The dealer is unable to order one for my car. You may have more luck with a 2003.

The wiring or one of these listed above has a short . Disconnect the cooling fan control module and see if the problem goes away , if it does you need a new cooling fan control module . Do you know where it is ?

Keyless entry and dash remote trunk release not working

Use your key to unlock the door / trunk. If your car starts up; it might just be a connector and / or your battery in your remote. Try the simple / cheaper fix check by checking the connectors leading to the trunk release solenoid.

My car won't go into gear

if you shift it and it doesnt engage it could be a transmission failure
if it wont let you shift it out of park-then a common problem with the L series was the body control module shorting out internally-this controls the shift lock
the only way to fix this is to replace the bcm(body control module)
probably runs around $300-$500 depending on your location

unfortunately, the car's BCM or body control module is bad. only a dealer or repair shop that can program it(which is very few) can perform this repair

Body Module went out. Needs replacement

I think you can get one from a saturn dealer for under $400. You will have to have them program it and reset the passlock system so the mileage is correct and the car starts though.
