THere are a number of ODBII protocols. The one for the RHZ engine is "ISO14230-4 KWP 5-baud init". The tool you have is probably for the later Suzukis which have the same protocol with the fast init. I have an ELM-327 tool which came with Scantool 1.13. It could read my friends newer Suzuki with the Renault engine but not mine. I got the Scanmaster-ELM software to try. This works with my RZH engine but unfortunately can't reset the fault codes so don't go this way! If anyone knows of a tool/software combo that can reset the codes on the RZH engine without breaking the bank I'd love to hear about it.

I use the ElmScan ISO from scantools.net. I think ElmScan 5 is an updated version.
I can read out data, read out engine errors and reset it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Where is the fuel pump relay on a 2.0 d suzuki vitara 2005

the NON_GRAND VITARA is not here in 2005 sorry.
2.0D (that mean diesel?)
vitara are sold all over planet earth. where are you????
nor are they the SAME,
and vast engine options, there is a J20 gas engine.
the diesel is unlike any gas cars. all parts. related.
2.0 L RF I4 (diesel)
eg;
he RF is a SOHC, two valves-per-cylinder engine. (older FE)
One of Mazda's more popular diesel engines, it was also available with a pressure wave supercharger called Comprex.

my guess is that sparse "D" means diesel.
this is usa forum we dont have the RF here.
actually there are 4 engines.
2.0 L RF/RFM I4 (diesel)
2.0 L RHW/RHZ I4 (diesel)

learn that all diesels have there own matching parts
and that means pumps ,relays EFI, etc. all parts fuel. for sure.

As of 2003, the smaller Suzuki Vitara has been withdrawn from the North American market.!!!!!!
no engine, no books. no car. strike 3.
why not post to a non usa car forum even a real suzuki forum.?

many suzuki use a large pink wire for the pump power
this can be a big clue, looking at the relays.

Why grand vitara wont start? turns but does not fire

2.5L engine? v6.
you broke it , didnt you.
the 2.5L has no belt so its not 2.5L , 2.5L is CHAIN,(i own one same year)
must be a 4 cylinder engine??
and G16>
world wide GV have these engines
1.6 L G16B I4 (petrol)
2.0 L J20A I4 (petrol)
2.5 L H25A V6 (petrol)
2.0 L RF/RFM I4 (diesel)
2.0 L RHW/RHZ I4 (diesel)

only the 1.6BL gas has a belt.
lucky for you its not an INTERFERENCE engine or boom.
I also have A G16 suzuki and know how to time it.
the G16, must be cam timed at #4 cylinder firing, never #1
this is stated in the gates belt page, the FSM and alldata.com
and here.

after changing the belt , i always check that i have my 170psi
compression back (wideopen throttle) or its all just a waste of time.

its not the CKP unplugged, as this engine runs with out one.
fact.
here are all G16b steps.
and nice photos. and the false marks, that is correct, suzuki
gawd love em. uses the cogs on 2 engines. 3cyl and 4cyl.

all pitfalls are here. every one.

Grand vitara RF diesel oxygen sensor location

old post.
in what country.?
smog controls vary by , you guessed it, country.
2 used world wide, diesels.
2.0 L RF/RFM I4 (diesel)
2.0 L RHW/RHZ I4 (diesel)

RF.
did you look first?
at the exhaust header, for 4 pin devices, (sensor) there.
look again. its there.
are you even sure there is ONE?
or just chasing RUMORS?

ever consider buying the FSM for this car.
and now no more wild goose chases?
ask suzuki for the service man.

its really a MAZDA , i think
A direct-injection turbo version (101 bhp) with four valves per cylinder, called the DiTD was introduced in the June 1998 Mazda 626 Wagon 2.0 DiTD. Engine has SOHC valve train with rocker arms and mechanically adjusted screws (no hydraulic valve lifters), with Denso V5 rotary injection pump and Denso PCM.

if it is, then the 02 is at the header collector junction, very near.
the down pipe. or the actual exh. manifold end collector.
like most cars....

Would a faulty electric fuel pump relay be the reason there is no power going down to the fuel pump in a 2002 suzuki grand vitara 2.0 rhz diesel engine

To test fuel flow, have a 2nd person stand over air filter (air filter housing open) with a can of starting fluid in one hand. Don't give any throttle, then 2nd person gives 1-second squirt into air filter while you're turning starter motor (no throttle). When engine catches, immediately give one third to one half throttle. Just before it dies, 2nd person should give another short squirt of starting fluid to keep engine from dying. If throttle won't keep engine running and only starting fluid keeps it running, then yes, no fuel is going through fuel lines. Either its a fuel pump issue or maybe there's restriction because of clogged dirty fuel filter. If it starts but runs rough and has black exhaust smoke, then its clogged or dirty fuel injectors.

Do i need lock tool to change cam belt on a 03 grand vitara

I'd be first confirming whether you have a 1.6 litre Grand Vitara (petrol), or a 2 litre turbo diesel. The 2 litre petrol (straight 4 or V6) or 2.5 litre petrol engines are all chain drive.
If your engine is petrol then no lock tool is required (to hold the camshaft). Of course, there is a specific position that an engine should be rotated too before removing the belt from ANY engine.
If it's diesel, then although I'm unfamilar with that particular engine, the general requirement for diesel engines with high pressure injection pumps is "yes, you require a lock tool" to hold the injection pump pulley. As I think these are a common rail set-up, this requirement may not be necessary. Check with your Suzuki Dealer, or maybe someone else here will know more. A similar question may have already been asked and answered here too.

Engine management light on ,suzuki grand vitara 2 litre turbo diesel, engine feels slugish

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes stored. The check engine light is to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Getting the codes will show what the computer has noted and curb the need for speculation. Most parts stores will perform the scan for free. Hope this helped and best wishes.
