it may not be your ignition switch. i have the same car, same prob.. i just replaced the ignition switch n still nothing.. it may be the ignition cylinder.? but it may very well be electrical. hard to say because im still stumped myself. if u have the steering wheel that moves up and down its likely the wires in the ignition cylinder snapped, but if u have to get a new one its goin to have to be from a dealership which means $$$..

Lost to my key, i want save money. i need the ignition electical layout...... or is there another solution

all you need is a steering wheel puller you can rent one from auto-zone for a few bucks
once you have the wheel off you will need to move the directional switch out of the way
take the Phillips screw out of the ignition tumbler and pull the old one out and put your
new one in you can also pick up the new ignition up at auto-zone then just reinstall every
thing done deal

hope this helps you

How to change an ignition switch for a 93 dodge dakota. What tools are needed?

first you will need to remove the steering wheel, you will need a steering wheel puller, then you will need to remove the steering wheel lock plate, you will need a lock plate press. then you will need to remove the turn signal switch , you will nee a Phillips screwdriver #2 for this, then you will see a 4 tourx head screws three large and 1 small remove the small one only and slide the ignition switch out of the collum, then reverse procedure to put it back together....you can borrow most of the tools from Auto Zone.......HAVE FUN

How do i pull out the ignition on my 1993 cutlass supreme so that i can take it in and have it re-keyed or replaced.

There should be a small pin hole located on the side or near the key for inserting a pin. Use a pin with the ignition in the on or run position (disconnect battery cable). Then pull out ignition.

Runs great then stops sometimes and takes awhile to start back.replaced coilpack any sugguestion

I would take the ignition module and have it checked. Its the plate the coil packs bolt to. Auto Zone or most places can check them.Have them check it @ least 3 times back to back,so it heats up.When they get hot they sometimes break down. If not most likely the crankshaft sensor breaking down.

I have a 1993 cutlass cierra that won't start. lots of battery power but nothing happens when you turn the key. New starter was just put in less than a month ago?

locate purple wire on starter, find good ground on frame, check for power when as a friend tries to start. be small wire (purple or gray) on starter. if no power when key turned to start, its not getting ignition signal from relay or switch. try that.
