SOURCE: 95 Pathfinder Fuel Pump

In the rear cargo area you pull the back plastic strip that runs around where your hatch latches and pull the carpet FROM the rear right to the front left of the cargo area until you see the round/square panel with 4 10mm bolts.  That is the cover that you remove to get to your pump without having to pull your gas tank.  be sure to label your fuel lines.

The tank does not need to be dropped. There is a access panel either under the cushion of the rear seat or in the trunk. I have to replace the pump on my 02

Nissan dealer claims they replaced the heater pump [not the water pump], is there such a thing as a heater pump?2005 nissan pathfinder

Yes, your Nissan Pathfinder has a heater pump. The heater pump circulates the hot coolant from your engine to your heater core(s). You have two heater cores if you have rear temperature controls. My guess is that your problem was that you had very little heat or no heat at idle. Attached is the page from the service manual on how to replace it.
