SOURCE: Black smoke is coming from my exhaust on my 1993

If its BLACK smoke it's unburned fuel. If it has carb, the carb float is too high or sunk. If it has fuel injection it's a stuck (open) fuel injector.

SOURCE: 1992 Toyota Previa van,Oil dripping onto exhaust manifold, replace head gasket? need a free manual!

The toyota previa uses a formed silicone gasket for the valve cover and the cover is held in place by metric shoulder bolts ( 10mm). The valve gasket leaks because you can't get enough preload on the bolts to re-seat the old gasket when it gets old and shrinks. The shoulder bolts only allow you to tighten the gasket enough to seat the shoulder on the bolt. If you continue to torque down the suspected bolts, you will snap the bolt off ( don't ask me how I know this ). You can either 1.)replace the old gasket with a new one or 2.) remove the existing bolts around the leak area and put in new metric bolts that do not have a shoulder. You may want to put in a small sleeve into the existing bolt hole but shorter than the thickness of the valve cover to account for the smaller diameter bolt. You can now torque down the bolt and get enough preload to seal the valve cover without removing the old gasket. Make sure you use a torque wrench ( in-lbs) or be very careful not to snap these small valve cover bolts.

My 1SZ Toyota Vitz smokes changing from black to white or vise vessa.Whats the cause?

Black smoke is too much fuel. White smoke is water/coolant going threw the exhaust. I would go after the white smoke first. Do a compression test first. White smoke is usually a blown head gasket. If you find it is and fix it. While apart, either replace the injectors/carb or have the cleaned.

My Toyota ipsum is producing a heavy smoke and chews fuel

A big cause of this could be bad oxygen sensors, stuck injectors, worn valve seal, worn or damaged rings, the list goes on as for internal engine wear.
If compression good, have a major tune up done, maybe even engine flush, have car checked for trouble codes and repaired,

Toyota Paseo: oil leak, white smoke, and a whistling belt

Possibly,
Do a compression test on the engine to confirm or rule out a breached head gasket. If the gasket breached you could get antifreeze leaking both internally and externally causing both white smoke and the squealing belt and have a oil leak. The gasket is one of the few things that separate these systems.

Black smoke and soot coming out of the exhaust pipe

Black smoke is caused when the mix of fuel and air becomes un-balanced. Normal mixture is 14.5 parts air to1 part fuel. When the fuel to air mixtures change because of a malfunction the mixture can go as high as 14.5 to 2 or 3, two to three times the proper amount. The black smoke is the excess fuel generated from the rich mixture and can be cause by one of the following:
  • plugged air filter
  • Shorted or stuck fuel injector
  • Failed fuel pressure regulator
  • Vacuum leak
  • Shorted ECM Sensor , scan for any problem codes if possible.

I bought this 1992 toyota 4runner, and half way home it started leaking all the transmission oil, while throwing out a little bit of smoke.

Sounds like a transmission cooler line ruptured. Smoke coming from exhaust or front of engine?
Hopefully you boght this from a reputable Dealer?

1993 TOYOTA TERCEL 1500cc Valve Seals Replaced now smokes much worse

You either have had the wrong valve seals installed, they are physically missing, or the valves are incorrect (too loose in the guides/stem too thin). The rocker arm seals will not contribute to your issue. If it did not have the oil smoke before you took the head off, the issue is with whatever the machine shop did. Valve seals have to fit TIGHT, or oil will go down the valve stem into the intake.
Take the head back to the machine shop & tell them to fix it. For free.
