Key goes in , feels like tumblers are hitting . tried turning key around and also wiggling steering wheel
Try spraying release oil down the ignition barrel with key inserted, if this fails probably new ignition switch assembly..Good-luck......

SOURCE: hello, my steering wheel is
All you need to do is turn your steering wheel to the left all the way till it stops then put your key in while still holding the steering wheel to the left, turn the key to the on position this should release your steering wheel!

You description was very good, I need to ask for a specific.
When you turn to the left, the wheel is stiff like the engine is off or does it turn smoothly but the vehicle doesn't turn or seem to respond.
I'm trying to rule out broken mounts,
Also, if the wheel is all the way to the right, is it difficult turning back to the left the whole way, or half way. See where I'm going.?
Please comment back your findings

SOURCE: ignition tumbler locked up
try a spare key, or push key into lock while turning
it is the tip [pointy end] of the key that releases the switch tumbler lock allowing it to turn. keys & switches wear out, a 'heavy' key ring especially wears the switch.

common for this key switch to be defective. Might try graphite lubricant to spray in the hole. Once you replace key switch it will have to be recoded (electronically)by a lock smith, repair shop or dealer.
