Question about 2004 Toyota Sienna

How do I adjust the headlights for a 2004 Toyota Sienna

The left HL is very high and when I turn on High Beams... They both change so much I can't tell where that are really pointing. If I can just adjust the Left Side to its correct position then maybe I'll be able to get a better look at the Hight Beam problem. Thx for direct instructions to adjusting the Left HL.

Ok... fixed it. Found the seraded adjustment bolts on the light case... Was a little difficult because there was only 1 1/2" of space from the bolt to the Fuse box located directly behind the light case. Had to use needle nosed plyers and it took about 10 mins to bring the light back down to the proper level.

If you look just behind the headlight glass from the top, you will see two holes with 7mm hex head screws. These will adjust your headlights up, down, left and right.

Toyota Sienna 2004 Headlight Problem

If you have the HID bulbs, and there is moisture in the bottom of the assembly, the high voltage box at the bottom will not work. this requires removing the whole headlamp, removing the circuit board from the bottom and drying out. I have done mine twice before finally finding how water was getting in at the top seam of the lamp assembly. You will have to dis-assemble part of the wheel well and bumper cover to gain access to all the mounting bolts. Best of luck

Headlights wont turn on but high beams do on my camry

Have you tried new bulbs, its rare but both low beams may have blown at the same time, it has happened to me in the past.
I don't know your car but the high and low beams could be fused separately so you are left with at least one set in an emergency.

Adjusting Headlamps

I have an 87 MR2 and this is how to adjust mine. Headlights have two spring loaded adjusting screws, one on the top controlling up and down movement and one on the side controlling left and right movement. The simplest method requires a blank wall 25 feet in front of the vehicle and a level floor. Position masking tape vertically on the wall in reference to the vehicle centerline and the centerlines of both headlights. NOTE: It may be easier to position the tape on the wall with the vehicle parked only a few inches away. Adjustment should be made with the vehicle sitting level. Starting with the low beam adjustment, position the high intensity zone so it is 2 inches below the horizontal line and 2 inches to the right of the headlight vertical line. Adjustment is made by turning the top adjusting screw clockwise to raise the beam and counterclockwise to lower the beam. The adjusting screw on the side should be used in the same manner to move the bean left or right. With the high beams on, the high intensity zone should be vertically centered with the exact center just below the horizontal line. NOTE: It may not be possible to position the headlight aim exactly for both high and low beams. If a compromise must be used, keep in mind that the low beams are the most used and have the greatest effect on driver safety. I typed this out of my "Haynes Manual 1985-1987 Toyota MR2 Book. I would think it would be the same method for a 1989 also. Hope this helps you. Redheadedwop
