Question about 2002 Mercedes-Benz C200
Those button on my c200 mercedes steering totally not functioning after i went to service my air con, at the beginning the horn swtich on automatically and non stop horning After i insert my key ..anyone can help please?
Often we find that the horn pad becomes loose and requires adjustment, you need to take it to a mechanic to be adjusted, they need to remove the air bag and adjust the spring loaded screws, that should fix your horn, I doubt it has anything to do with your air conditioning repair

SOURCE: mercedes 1999 c200 key fob
Could it be the key just needs re-coding? maybe you are worrying to much as £177 would be about right as that would need coding etc., Try phoning your local Merc dealer or take the key and V5 to them for coding (Hopefully)

if it is your rad some rad weld will give you a temporary fix and tell you if the two things are connected. Rad weld is available from halfords or similar DIY car repair places.

There is a special additive lubricant for gear transmission to solve this problem. Just add on to gear oil. I had the same problem. now ok.

you should check the connection to the main board and the connections to the motor for the wipers. these sometimes become gunked up, so when you pull them apart to check them clean them with sand paper or something that can scrub them like a green scratch pad

It's not that unusual for a battery to fail that soon, and the "no lights, no nothing" says that it's the battery again. Your best bet at this point is to pull the battery and take it to the point of purchase for testing. They should either replace it under warranty or charge it for you. After you replace the battery you should have the charging/electrical system checked for possible shorts or power drains.
