Sounds like the power steering pump is going bad or you could have problems with the rack n pinion

There is a grinding noise from the front of the vehicle while driving. All new brakes. The wheel bearings have been checked and are fine.

Is it more like a vibration and humming, than grinding noise? If so it would be a bad engine or transmission mount. To check bearings while driving.. Find an empty parking lot, Make right and left turns/circles. Making a left, if the noise get loader, the right side bearing is bad. and vice versa. Do around 10 MPH while turning circles.

Ford focus making humming noise while driving on right side. stops when turning to right

If this noise is only while moving, I found a possible solution some time back. On the right side of this car (if I remember right) mounted on the subframe, there is a carrier bearing on that axle shaft. On this particular car, the bearing was still good but the u-shaped bracket it sits in was broken which allowed for humming and vibration. There was also a bad motor mount which also created a "humming" (I guess you could call it) and that was there while the car was stopped and running. The "humming" would change with the rpms. I hope this has helped to pin point your problem. Please let me know how this worked out for you or if there's anything else I can help you with. Thanks and good luck!

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. I have constant hum of road noise problem when I drive over 45 mph. I thought it was the tires & replaced all 4 tires with new tires. The hum quiets down if I trun to...

sounds like a right front wheel bearing. when you turn to the left it puts more load on the right bearing. when you turn to the right it puts more load on the left bearing. These are a bolt in style bearing and they are fairly easy to replace.

If you think you would like to give it a try let me know and I'll get you some instructions.

2004 Kia Sorento V6, automatic transmission, has a clicking noise upon acceleration. My husband added transmission fluid, as it was low, and the noise went away. A couple days later when gunning it to get...

In my experience with my 2005 Sorento the sounds you are hearing are either a universal joint that has gone bad or your carrier bearing is bad. The carrier bearing is the bearing mid way down the drive shaft. It supports the drive shaft. That is a very common problem in Sorentos. If you feel a shudder along with the clicking noise I would say it is the bearing. No shudder than I would guess universal joint.

Alero loud humming/roaring sound coming from front end.

That's indicative of a wheel bearing, which is why you were told to change that out. However, it's also possible that the carrier bearings in the differential (where the drive axles attach) have gone bad. That happened to me on my 300ZX several years ago, and I had to replace the diff bearings. I would have them checked out somewhere other than a dealer (you'll probably get a better price from an independent shop).

As a sidenote, to be sure it wasn't a wheel bearing, if you hear it quiet down in a turn one way but get louder in a turn the opposite way, it's likely the wheel bearing. If you turn left at speed and it gets louder, then it's the right bearing (since you're loading up that side of the car). If it gets quieter in a right turn, it's the right side (you're unloading that side of the car and not putting as much weight on it, so it doesn't drag as badly). See if you get that symptom just to be sure that the wrong side front wheel bearing wasn't changed.
