SPEEDO METER OF MY HYUNDAI STAREX VAN DOES'NT WORK AFTER REPLACING THE SPEEDOMETER SENSOR DEVICE

I don't know what is causing this problem, but I know phil140701's answer is completely wrong on two counts. First, 740 Volvos starting at least in 1986 have electronic speedometers and no cable. There is an electronic sensor on the differential which sends a signal to the speedometer cluster. Second, if it were strictly mechanical with a cable then the voltage regulator could have no effect on it at all.

Change mph to kilometres

There should be an option to change the mpg to kilos in the settings menu on the instrument cluster. Use the steering wheel buttons that look like a book til you see "to reset hold for 3 seconds" come up on the cluster. Once you get to that menu screen, use the arrow up or the arrow down button to scroll to the next sub menu. Then use the + or - buttons to select the sub menu for cluster or Instrument cluster. Once its highlighted from hitting the arrow - button, Use the arrow button again to scroll through til you see the mph or kph option. Then hit the + or - button to select kilometers. After that you can hit the book button again til you get to the main odometer screen but chances are you discovered all your display options and will continue scrolling through the sub menus. To do so just use the arrow buttons. If you don't have the kilometers option then it will have to be done with the Mercedes Benz laptop or "SDS"

Thermostat problems

Don't go mad trying to fix it yourself - just call out the AA, RAC, GreenFlag or other reputable auto breakdown service and get them to diagnose / fix the problem. If u don't have cover just get someone who does to be there - preferably home start type. As most banks or insurance give free cover with their accounts it should not be difficult to find someone - family member, neighbour, work pal etc.
