Sounds like it may be coming from your heater core or one of the hoses that run to it to be leaking in that area

Why do i have oil in my antifreeze

Transmission cooler inside the plastic parts of the radiator may be leaking and causing the oil to mix with the coolant. GM also has a problem with their lower intake gaskets leaking, which would allow the oil and coolant to mix. Last possibility is the head gasket is leaking and mixing the oil into the coolant side but not the other way. Check your transmission fluid for mixing evidence. Another thing to do is pressure test your cooling system (Radiator, hoses ect) to see if there is a leak. Another test to try out is compression.

Why radiator wont hold water

Is your antifreeze leaking on the ground in the front of the motor ? There are many different things to do to find the right answer to this question. 1 : pull the motor dipstick. If oil mixes with the water - antifreeze the dipstick will look milky. If it does not. And looks good. Then 2: with water in the radiator don't put antifreeze in it keeps wasting $$ til leak is found. 3 : start motor look from under the front of the water pump with a flashlight if you have a dripping from a weep hole in the water pump bottom behind the fan. If you can't find a leak shut off the motor. Feel the bottom of the water pump if there is a presence of water you'll need a new one. If not .4:if the motor is over heating or has been blowing antifreeze out of the overflow hose along the side of the radiator. If so the thermostat may be stuck. Much cheaper repair.

Im always having to put antifreeze in once a week. The way i know it needs it is when temp. gauge surges all the way up then it comes back down. No visible sign on any leaks any where. When i drive to...

Take a close inspection to your waterpump. Pump has a "weep" hole in bottom side of casting. It's an early warning system to detect seal leak before waterpump seizes up and does major damage. It could be so slight that coolant is blowing back along oil pan. That would be where I'd start. Do you smell coolant inside the rig? If so, check passenger floor up to firewall for dampness in carpet - indicating heater core leak.

My van is leaking antifreeze for the botton of the car isee it dripping off the transmission pan it is over heating and i loosing a lot of antifreeze

you may have blown a manifold gasket. check oil and see if it is milky looking. Does oil pressure light come on? If so the gasket is blown. I had a leak once and it was ths gasket, but none was leaking into oil, just out onto the engine near the intake manifold. You may also have a corroded freeze plug. If you live up north and get a lot of snow and road salt, this could really be the issue. They are not easy to change on front wheel drive engines. Sorry. Have a great 4th of July.

When i run my 1996 dodge ram 1500 it smells like antifreeze. i had the head changed but it smells like antifreeze. what could be the problem?

check the coolant level to see if it has dropped. Then look under the engine, for any leaks.Look for pools of coolant on top of the engine,or run down on the sides of the engine. Then look for radiator hoses, ans heater hoses that are leaking. If you are loosing antifreeze ,and you are sure the coolant is going somewhere, you may sill have a head,or head gasket, that are bad.If it has not been long before the head change, then the antifreeze may be still present in the exhaust,or on the engine,so you may have to wait a little longer for smell to disapate.Cleaning the engine can help.
