Battery keeps dying

I just replaced the battery two weeks ago and if a day goes by and I don't drive it, it will die. I have had the battery and alternator tested and they test fine.

SOURCE: battery cables

Do you have sealed battery cables? If you have the ones that are stripped with a clamp (shown below), then you should change the cables out to sealed.

You don't want corrosion on your cables or battery. Follow these instructions to clean and prevent corrosion on your battery. The corrosion may be hindering the connection of the battery post/screw and cable.

might be due to the battery being bad and may need replacement but if the battery is holding a charge then it might be due to a short out in some place

Car battery keeps dying

Myguess is that you have an electrical short which is causing a drain on the battery. The way to check this is to get a 12 v test light. Unhook the negative side of the battery. Hook the test light up between the negative battery post and the battery cable. If the light comes on, You have a short/drain. To find where the short is, you leave the test light hooked up. Then you start pulling fuses until the light goes out. However, your car stereo needs to be completely unhooked before you do this test because most stereos have a constant electrical source so that the clock stays accurate and the memory stays active so your programed stations don't get lost. I have a 2000 chrysler cirrus and for some reason my battery keeps dying. Its a new battery and i got a new alternor 2 weeks ago. It seem the battery dies after not driving it for a couple of days.

Did you see them putting a brand new battery? the problem as you describe it looks like the battery has a loss of water which prevent it to get charged as you drive. Check the battery's voltage (it has to be 12 or up ) and tell a technician to check the Acid of the battery . One more thing: is the battery a 65 Ampere one? that's the one the cirrus needs to work.

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick
