Re: when i put on my brakes the engine stutters and the...
Sounds like you have 2 problems here.?
The engine stuttering sounds more likely to be an air leak on your brake servo system, weakening the mixture, and this will give you a lumpy tick over.
As for the stop lights, No 1 check its not the fuse.
You need to confirm you are getting a live feed to the brake switch with a 12v test light.
If OK, bridge this connection and recheck your feeds at the stop light bulbs.

try removing the calipers as if you where doing the breakes push the break piston all the way back reasemble the breakes turn ignition on and pump the breakes untill they go hard then start engine and keep pumping for about the count of ten see if this works
When you replaced the brake light switch did you adjust it so that it contacts when it should?
It isn't enough to just replace it, you need to adjust the pedal height to specifications in order to make the brake lights work correctly.
Your vehicle is equipped with a stop lamp relay. The only thing I can think of that could even remotely have anything to do with the symptoms you are describing, is that another circuit (possibly transmission control solenoids?) have a bad connection somewhere and are feeding back and preventing your brake lamp relay from working.
I think I would start with a scan of your Engine Control Module, your Transmission Control Module and your Intrument Panel Cluster to see if there are any fault codes present that may lead you to a malfunctioning circuit.
Apply the parking brake with the vehicle parked, engine turned off and transmission in Park. Release the parking brake completely, then apply it again, and ensure that it is fully released. Turn the ignition on, check to see if the Parking brake warning light is on. If it is NOT on, apply the parking brake and check to see if the warning light comes on. If the light come ON wihen the Parking brake is applied,.....fully release the parking brake and check if the warning light goes OFF. If it does NOT go off, then an adjustment is needed at the parking brake switch.
first check your fueses, if thats not it on the slinder part of the arm behind the dash "the break" arm. There is a toggel switch when you push the break the button will release causing the break lights to come on when you let off the breaks it will engage the toggle switch and turn off the break lights....if the toggle switch goes out they wont work also have some one stand behind the car and wiggle the wires of the toggle switch see if it has a bad connection before you replace the switch could be just corresion or the wires may have came loose..
