SOURCE: 2002 VW Beetle EPC light on

the chances are your brake light switch is faulty.the cruise control relies on one side of the switch.
the epc light will come on for this code but will need to be reset through diagnostics port.
hope this helps.
you can also check for codes through the diag port for exact diagnostics.

I have a 2003vw jetta the epc light is on and the will not come out of park nor the stop lights come on,I have already changed the brake switch and still won't work..

EPC light should have nothing to do with the shift interlock,(EPC is traction control) should be a small cap or plug on the console, near the shifter that has the interlock disengage button, usually done with a key, check shift interlock in the owners manual.

05 jetta 2.5 accelerating problem, epc light come on from time to time, check engine light code reads secondary air injection system incorrect flow and just the other day the traction control light ca

first time the secondary air problem tells you to take the car to a shop, but you skip that, then the epc light turns on because the system detects that you did not fix it, then the computer lock the throttle body, that is call (safe mode or limp mode) to make you fix the problem, so to fix the throttle you need to reprogram it with a scanner that is capable to do a bidirectional function .then you can fix the secondary air injection.

2005 VW Beetle. Engne light on and EPC light comes on with significantly reduced power.

Sounds like all those sensors are going to need replaced. Basically, they are all in charge of metering the air and fuel to the engine, so if they are malfunctioning, the car isn't going to run correctly.

Vw passat epc light on

the belt slips, and the engine goes into limp mode, and the epc light will come on- to protect itslef until its fixed. Once its may have to decode her up to 9 times to get it to start...I did. Ive done 5 timing belt changes on these blasted cars and every time it slips a tooth and the engine cuts itself off with epc, i have to decode it at least 8 times. good luck. and to the idiot who said gas cap..get a life .

2002 vw passat- EPC light came on when starting car. Stayed on until car restarted. Is it OK to drive? Safe?

The EPC light means the car is running in "Limp Mode". I had the same thing happen to my car (2001.5 Passat GLS) and i chased the problem for three months.... I would drive and begin to get on the interstate only to have complete loss of power and inability to accelerate. Id pull over, turn off the car then crank it right back up and it was fine. But it came back again randomly. I would suggest pulling codes with a scanner. If you do not have one most local auto parts stores will scan them for free. Mine turned out to be a sensor that is right on top of the engine in the front.... If I'm not mistaken it's the engine speed sensor, also called crank sensor or impulse sensor. You may also want to do a throttle body cleaning.... That would be beneficial no matter what.use extreme care when doing any TB stuff, though, as it's very sensitive. I doubt you want to be forced to get a new one for ~650$. I'd also suggest getting the Bentley Manual for the car as its VERY handy! Http:// (there's a link at the bottom to get it.... I really suggest it, as this car is very high maintenance!!!!!!!)

Epc light on

EPC means Electronic Power Control.

When this light comes on, yopu could have such a sudden power loss.

However, before visiting a workshop for help, do the following basic checks:

No air leak into the intake system.

Ensure that all the electrical socket in the engine management system are well fitted, no loose contacts.

This light can be caused throttle valve malfunction, MAF, brake lights, EVAP , 02 sensor, secondary air pump.

I suggest you visit a competent dealer or independent shop for help. They will scan the EPC and run 'Throttle Body Adaption'. and diagnos the problem. Ask for a garage with a 'Ross Tech VAG-COM' or a ' VW diagnostics scanner.'

See here for a shop near you :

VW CC 2010 fuel door will not open

If you're experiencing problem under winter cold weather condition, heat the fuel door using an hair dryer blowing air in surface and into the joint.

Once it's warm up tap the fuel door with the palm of your hand during somebody else is operating the trigger. It should work.

Once it's open, apply silicone spray or lub on mecanism and hinges to avoid reoccurence.
Hope it will help

Epc on

The EPC light is the Electronic pedal control. The mass air meter, brake switch, the throttle body, the gas pedal, wiring, and the computer all are tied to the EPC light. If you had a EPC or the engine light on then there is a fault. This can cause the computer to enter a limp mode or the improper signal is sent from the accelerator which manifests itself as poor performance. There have been some recalls on this so I would visit your local VW dealer.

EPC light on my dashboard

Hi Shamiza, I have a Mercedes Diesel Motorhome and I use Bio Diesel, if I don't dilute the fuel with regular diesel a red light comes on EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) I then go into limp mode no more than3,500 rpm this is in case I do damage to high pressure pump. So I am presuming your vehicle is Petrol and possibly requires a service of sorts to the fuel system? Electronic Petrol Control??
It is just a thought and if it were me I would be knocking my Vw dealership for further advice.
I hope this helps
