If you pull back the carpet in the trunk directley behind the lens, you should find the mounting screws. Some models only need to have a few plastic wing nuts removed without pulling back the carpet.

BMW's from 82' to 2001 should have a 20 pin connector under the hood. Unscrew the lid and find pins 7 and 19. Short these pins together and turn the key to run, not start. Within 5 to 10 seconds the sensor will reset. Leave the key on, and remove the short. Don't leave them shorted too long, as this will reset the maintenance interal.

How to remove tail light lens on 2000 ford contour SE

Open the trunk. Pull back the trunk lining where it covers the tail light access inside the quarter panel. Remove the lamp sockets for the turn/stop and backup lights, and remove the screws that hold the lens in place. The lens will then pull out from the quarter panel. Installation is the reverse: make sure the rubber gasket is in place properly.

How to Fix Foggy Tail Lights in BMW 528 car?

1) Stick the masking tape and paper around the tail light to take care of the paint. 2) Take care nothing gets rubbed on the car paint or nothing gets scratched on the car light cover and paint. 3) Do it gently without any force. 4) Take a sand paper make it wet and use the wet sand paper to sand the tail lights. 5) Do this sanding until all the dirt and fogginess is removed completely. 6) You can use heavy grit sand paper if the dirt is very hard to remove. 7) After sanding is done clean and rinse the tail light. 8) After cleaning is done ,apply a plastic material polish cream on the tail light and gently rub it till the tail lights shine. This will help.thanks.
