SOURCE: A/C Compressor

the a/c compressor won't come on if the refrigerant is low...make sure you have the proper amount of refrigerant and you have no leaks in the system.....if that's ok then check the a/c compressor cut out switch mounted on the compressor itself, you can check for continuity on the switch with an ohm-meter or resistance meter....if the switch is closed, which it should be when the compressor is will measure 0(zero) ohms which it should be.....or you can measure the voltage on both sides of the switch with reference to chassis or ground...which will show 12 volts on both contacts which it should be...good luck

Are you thinking the relay that controls the wiper motor ? The owners manual should have a section for fuses and relays. The wiper motor is controlled by a relay because of its higher current draw. It should be located in one of the fuse panel/blocks.

I no longer hear my ride control air compressor do it's self test when I start the car. It also doesn't seem to level the car when trunk is loaded. I changed the ECR relay under the rar seat, but...

If you change the position of the height sensor on the front of rear, the aircompressor should kick on.

I have a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII that has a fuse in the trunk labeled RSS (beside the on off switch) and if that blows the entire air ride system stops working. But I can't remember whether the self test was gone through or not.

Unfortunately, since the car is not doing a self test when you start the car or getting an error message it sounds more like the computer for your DeVille.

Air ride suspension rear dont work how can i check whats wrong?

The 97 Caddie Seville STS has an air compressor located under the car just in front of the passenger side muffler, above the crossmember. It is a pretty weak compressor, and is only designed to slowly fill up the shocks. Probable issues are a blown compressor, or leaky shocks. Before replacing either make sure you have power going to the compressor, and air going to the shocks. No power to the compressor could be caused by a bad wire, relay, connector or fuse all of which are cheaper to fix. If you have power, check the little air lines leading to the shocks from the compressor to see if you have a leak. Airlines are much cheaper than shocks.

What does service ride control mean on 1995 cadillac deville?

The Cadillac's have an automatic leveling system using a small compressor and air adjustable "shocks" to provide that BEAUTIFUL ride quality that they are known for. The computer has detected a fault in the system and is letting you know. It could be a faulty air line, bad shock, or a blown fuse. I hope this will give you a starting point if you are considering a repair.

Service ride control stays on when i drive my 94 Seville

Check for an air leak in the air suspension system, if there is an air leak the system will continually run until it burns out the ride level compressor.

Rear suppenion low to the ground

There is an air compressor mountedmabove the rear suspension. The fuse for the air ride suspension is located behind the trunk rear trim panel. There is a level sensor on the rear control arm. If fuse is good, check for power at plug feeding compressor, compressor failure common. With suspesion at low position, sensor should send power to compressor. if no power suspect height sensor. Check relay for power and operation although failure rare.
