SOURCE: can't open car door due

Any car that can not be opened with a key instead of a remote, should be junked. That is really, really dumb. But you can always pry up a corner of the hood, use a long hook to release the catch, and change the battery.

Broken door locks

Then you'll be needing to remove the inside door panel. There should be a clip on the lock mechanism and a rod attached to it. What I'd do is go down to a u-pull it lot and find a similar model and remove the door panel and see what you're up against. Then you can decide if you want to get into it yourself or have it done by a mechanic or a locksmith, whichever is cheaper. Goog luck.

Hi,
The light for the keyless remote fob stays on? If so the battery may need replaced.

Here is link to a remote - LINK.IF this is yours get a battery @ your grocery store.

-open the key fob w/a flat screwdriver
-note the battery's position - is the '+' or the '-' visible?
-replace the batter the same way
-snap the cover back on

To reprogram (should also be in the Owner's manual):

drivers door is unlocked.

2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.

D. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
F. Remove the key from the ignition.

5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically
indicating successful entry into programming mode.
Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.

6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remtoe simutaneously for 1.5 seconds.
B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons,

2002 grand voyager limited 2.5 dl, chime sounds when ignition key is in the ignition and door is open, when door is closed it stops but when left over night battery is flat

I don't see the connection - - you would need to find out if the battery has a dead cell or if something in the van is draining the battery.
Once the battery is tested someone would need to check every circuit with a meter or test light to look for the drain.

Do you have the original key for this vehicle. If so you can unlock the door with this key. Even if the battery is flat. Allowing you to access the bonnet release catch.

Toyota hilux surf immobiliser problem.

My KZTE Double Cab Bakkie (Utlity vehicle) comes with a Factory fitted central locking system
Yesterday the Remote would not un-lock the vehicle. The battery in the remote has been checked and seems ti be OK. I managed to open the vehicle (coat hanger through rubber on door method), when opening teh door the alarm went off (hooter etc). I placed the remote in the de-activating housing but it did not de-activate the alarm. I am now driving around with the flashers going for 20 seconds or so every time I open a door, but teh vehicle drives (I took out the hooter fuse to keep my sanity)..

Please help
