2003 Honda Accord EX Starter Problem

1-owner - only 48,000 miles on this car and it sounds like the starter is going. Is this possible? I do not deliver pizzas (laughing). The two recall notices on this vehicle have been dealt with - does anyone know what the warranty is for this type of problem. Could it be covered?

Warranty is up - only a 3-year 36,000 mile one.
The sound is just like when you try to start a car already started. I did read a service bulletin that said it's a common noise on Honda models and if a Customer complains - don't bother trying to fix it - there's nothing wrong. Well, this just now started and I think something is wrong. The noise can be just a couple of seconds but sometimes it's a bit longer than that (after car has started).

Usually the warranty is only 5 years tops!

Please describe the sound in detail.

Dear vbcalumet,
My car has over 200,000 miles and I love it dearly so I often worry about noises most of which have NOT been a problem so far so.....

Would you please describe the sound in more detail?
Type of sound?
How long does it last?
When do you hear it?
On the road?
At idle?

Please respond asap.

I would go back and double check the vacuum lines, I know there were several I had to disconnect on the air inlet tube, when I replaced the starter on my Honda. it sounds like a vacuum leak. the second thing to check would be the EGR valve. Good Luck!
