Now just replaced the spark plugs. Still nothing. Should I try replacing the crank sensor?

Found out the problem.. After changing all those parts, it was the ignition control module, which took my husband 10 minutes to change. My car is running great now. Just wanted to let you all know incase this happens to you...

You need to test for spark and fuel.
If the coil pack went out, you won't get spark. If the fuel filter is clogged you won't get fuel. Try shaking (bouncing) the rear of the car. Maybe debris is blocking the fuel pickup.

Thanks for the reply. However, coil packs and fuel pump replaced and fuel filter is fine. Any more suggestions, it is still turning over but not canking.

Why is it that my 2003 impala will crank and turnover but wont start

I sounds like you have a fuel flow problem. Replace the in-line fuel filer located in the fuel line in front of the rear tire. Check out this web site for "how to" replace the in-line fuel filter.

Won,t crank says no bus fuel gage wont work.there was a loose wire in steering column hooked this back up bus light went off cranked said p done .went to town yesterday shut off coming home cranked back,...

What color wire was loose ? VI/YL - Violet with yellow trace . A no bus message means the instrument cluster lost communication with the serial data network . Do you know what that is ? Gauge info. comes from other computers on the vehicle through the data bus. If a module (computer ) looes connection some how , faultly module , wiring problem etc... this message will show an more then likely a DTC - diagnostic trouble code will set in one of the modules on the vehicle . Don't know how much you know about this stuff , but you can not go to a auto part's store an have it check for code's . The tool they use doesn't check all the computers on the vehicle . The data bus on your vehicle is the PCI bus. 006 Chrysler PCI Communications
Reading as much as you can about this an finding wiring diagrams to test the bus wiring plus having the modules checked for communication network code's is the way to find a fix . Most of the time it is a loose connection that causes this problem .

Is there a safety switch on a 2006 pt cruiser?

Only Ford products have an inertia switch for the fuel pump.
You may have damaged the fuel pump in the tank.
I would start at the beginning and find out if you have spark to the plugs and fuel pressure.

I have a 2003 chevy impala. My impala cranks fine in the morning but after been driven for a while and I cut it off; its like I have to wait for it to cool down before it will crank back up....for a while...

I have a similar like yours, I changed the ignition switch, 40 bucks in any auto-parts should fix your problem, I strongly recommend see how to disarm your dash board it a big mess but very easy and doable..
Good luck and do not give up on american cars

Why wont my 03 impala start after water got in the air intake will not crank just clanks and doesnt seem to be getting any fire

Be very careful about what you do. If you get a significant amount of water into the cylinders, you can destroy the engine by trying to crank it. Water will not compress, unlike air, and severe damage can be done.

Take it to a repair shop.

Car starts, then doesn't, then does, then doesn't

check the fuel pump relay! It sounds like it is one of your relays. If it was an electrical or sensor problem, the check engine light would be on.

My 1997 Dodge Avenger's engine won't start

Try cam and/or crank sensor. If crank to cam timing isn't detected properly it'll crank all day but won't start. I had similar problem on my 2.5L V6 Avenger....drove home fine, no engine light, next morning it cranked, but wouldn't start. The crank sensor was faulty.

Starting problems with my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have an 03 Santa Fe as well and just had the exact thing happen to me. One day, it just wouldn't turn over at all and I had to have it towed to the dealer. They replaced the "crank shaft position sensor" and now the car is fine. I am not sure if this is your problem but it might be worthwhile asking someone to check it out.
