SOURCE: car jerks on freeway and engine shuts off.

It sounds like your Mass Air Flow Sensor is faulty. These sensors will normal show fault when cruising at highway speeds causing the vehicle to almost stall or stall. Replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor with a known good one and test drive the vehicle. This will most likely repair your concern.

SOURCE: where is the speed sensor Su6494 on a 2006 nissan

The name of the sensor is call Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).

It's on the body of the transmission and connected via wire INTO the firewall.

Look @ the top of your transmission maybe the back, follow the cable that runs from your transmission to the firewall where ur steering wheel would be.

I have an 09 Altima 2.5 that seems like it don't want to go when I give it gas and I can hear it idle down really low to where it starts jerking a little.

Kristie, you need to do some maintenance ! start w/ basics, replace air & fuel filters, a must do ! good time to replace spark plugs & plug wires ! also replace distributor CAP & ROTOR ! see how this does, there could be more . some of your sensors may need replaced ! I don't know what you have done, if anything lately, so, you may want to replace the OXYGEN SENSOR, ALSO, you may need to replace both the CAM & CRANK SENSORS !!! IF you take your car to an autoparts store, they can see if your computer has stored any trouble codes !!! do that first, then , change your filters , and so on !!!

Car jerking at low speeds and idle

Not fuel filter. Is your engine light on? Could be accelerator pedal position sensor. Does it do it only when you are accelerating?

How to reset the oil light in my 2008 nissan altima

According to Nissan owners club online - - -
There are 2 square buttons on the dash, to the left of the steering wheel. Push the left one to get to the maintenance screen and push the right one to change the "oil", "oil filter", or tire schedules. Don't worry about "other".
To reset, highlight the number and just hit "back", to reset it automatically. It takes a while but you'll figure it out.

I have a nissan maxima 04 and when I switch my carr into drive it jerks one time making a big thump sound ..some one told me it might be the motor mounts would this be true

possible but more likely issue with valve body in trans.is it a 5 speed auto?does it get worse the hotter the trans gets?the mounts are a common failure on these but generally when they fail you get a big thump when you initially hit this gas when pulling away from being stopped.

The engine seems to have oil, but the light is on in my 1995 nissan altima

The oil light means you have low oil pressure but not necessarily low oil.
Low oil pressure can lead to serious engine problems and should be fixed right away.

GAS TANK LEVER 2001 NISSAN ALTIMA

If you can't glue the handle back on, e.g. with urethane glue (gorilla glue, Elmers Nano, etc.; use as directed, cleaning lever and plastic cover with soap and water just before gluing) then you can just buy a part like Nissan 84640-9E000 (1998 Altima exact replacement; Nissan call it a Handle- Trunk & Gas Door Release.)

That will work fine as long as the gas filler door mechanism isn't messed up; go check for obstructions once you open the door, presumably by using a small locking pliers over a cloth or some rubber on the lever (or the cable wire.)

The trick is, you get to replace it with the door open; use a blade screwdriver to pry the running-board trim up, unscrew the bolt on the trim to the left and pry that off, undo some expander bolts holding the carpet across the running-board area, and wrangle the carpet away from the lever you want to replace.  Some 10mm wrench work gets the lever loose, and you tilt the loosened stuff forwards to be able to remove the cable.  Regrease the bolts and cable run as well as you can.  Thread the new handle through the carpet before you bolt it in; it's harder to set up and bolt, but you don't have to cut the carpet or remove the seat!
