If the light casing needs replasing then im pretty sure you have to remove the upper bumper, but if its the bulb thats blown the you should be able to do it from the engine bay. I hope this information helps im sorry i couldnt help more but im not a vw specialist.

In the VW world it's called "Limp Mode" and unfortunately it's relatively common. Here's a link to some useful info on limp mode

SOURCE: I dont have heating in my passat gls 2002. any

do you have a 2.8 v-6. If so i hate to be the bearer of bad news but most likely it will be a clogged heater core. Take a look at you coolant bottle reservoir is the coolant a dark brown crusty color? If so that means that all the build up from the bad coolant has plugged your heater core to the point that it is not flowing anything thru it. That will be about a 1000 dollar repair. sorry for bad news

I just replaced the fuel pump in my 2004 VW Passat GLS 1.8T and the gas gauge is not working. How would I fix this?

More than likely the fuel sending unit was not placed down into the tank properly or possibly defective. This could have happened during the installation and I know this for certain to be tricky on this car . I would suggest removing the pump assembly and making sure the arm attached is correctly moving inside the tank . Goodluck

What items should I check to trouble shoot why my '99 VW Passat GLS 1.8T is barely able to move from stopped position; first and second gears are now more difficult. I have stopped driving and need to...

I assume that this is a Manual? Check the reservoir for clutch fluid. If the slave or master cylinder leak the level will fall and let air into the system, making gear selection hard to impossible and moving off tough.
If it is an auto, check the trans fluid level in park while the engine is running and the handbrake on.I hope this helps.Let me know of your findings and we can work towards a solution. Please remember to rate this advice.

I have no hot air coming out off my heater

You need to change the heater core nothing else will help. You could try charging the heater core with water from a garden hose> Shoot water to the heater in to the 2 hoses next to ur car battery. Make sure u dont shoot water in to ur engine the heater core is inside ur car not under the hood, u just have 2 hoses going under the hood. after u see clean water coming from the heater should start working better.
