If you are certain there is no air in the coolant system, then there is a chance that the blend door motor is not working or the heater control assembly is bad. since you have replaced your own heater core you probably noticed the the doors inside the heater core housing. One of those doors is controlled by the "hot/cold" knob. The motor on that door could bad.

SOURCE: It's just TOO cold!

No, there is no easy way to get those out. The whole dash needs to come out before you can even start to get to it. Not to mention, depending on what type of motor you have, some of it may need to be taken apart just to get to a few bolts. I had a customer ask why a heater core replacement is so expensive, and the best answer seems to be, is that an engine swap and transmission replacement is easier and requires less labor. You could in theory, do it yourself. But what are those hours really worth to you?

Heater blows cold air

First, make sure you are not low on antifreeze and that the heater is set correctly. Also, it is winter, make sure your coolant is not frozen. Heaters take longer to work in the winter when it is cold outside.

If the simple things are all ok, you may have a problem that will require diagnosis and new parts to repair. I recommend a pro shop with certified mechanics that will do the job right quickly the first time.

1976 chevy k10 350cdi base model no ac.will not warm up upper radiator hose gets hot heater lines both get hot but lower hose stays cold. changed thermostat filled till full ran air out of system no c

It sounds like you have a blockage in the system and by the description it sounds as if it is the heater core. The best advise I have is to pull the heater hoses off of the heater core and blow backwards into the core. Next would be to make sure the hoses both heat up, the top and the bottom.

I have a 2002 Chevy tracker. It's been running hot on the temp gage. So, I have changed the thermostat and replaced the radiator hose because of corrosion but it still overheats and when I turn on

If there is cold air coming out the heater than there is air in the system. After you replaced the thermostat did you run the engine at idle with the radiator cap off until the engine came up to operating temp? Doing this will purge the air from the system.

Either its the heater core or the thermostat

your heater core is definitley leaking and your blower is pushing the vapor into the cabin. It will only get worse. You can minimize the smell by not running your heater or defroster, but you wont prevent the coolant from leaking and potentially getting worse. Sorry to say, the core will need pulled and repaired or replaced. Sometimes stop leak additives will solve the problem if its not too severe. I have never been a fan of them, its only a band aid in my view. also if u got pets afoid leeting they smell the antifreeze very toxic can kill pets easily. hope this helps. rate above 4* cheers

Heater blowing cold air

If there is a internal antifreeze leak, there will be antifreeze mixed in your oil. Check your oil. If there is antifreeze in there, you probably have a bad head or base gasket. Worst case scenario is your block is cracked somewhere. Check your heater core and the lines as well. If the heater core is bad it will be leaking.
Check the thermostat housing for a leak. Sometimes
the antifreeze will leak from there, and burn on top of the exhaust instead of dripping onto the ground. Good luck

You need to have the cooling system/heater core tested for leaking. Those symptoms sound like the heater core has failed.

once truck is warm check both heater core hoses to make sure they are both warm if not then check the cold water valve could be stuck shut not allowing coolant to travel in to heater core.

My 2002 ford taurus has no heat, i have replaced the temperature sensor, the water pump, 2 thermostats, heater core is not leaking antifreeze overflow bucket has new cap? what else could my problem be?

I have the same vehicle...check to see that the heater control valve is opening...usually mounted on the fire wall and has about a 5/8" inch hose that come from the T-stat....it esentially bypasses the heater core when the heat is not selected. The hoses going through the fire wall on the left (passenger) side of the vehicle are strictly for the heater - it "heat" is selected and those hoses are cold - based on what you've already done, the next conclusion would be the heater control valve...could be something as simple as a disconnected vacuum line.

Good Luck,

Mike...
