When the car is on and the power steering pump warms up the power steering doesn't want to work once it warms up it is very hard to turn there are no leaks and the fluid it full

it could be that the pressure relief valve in the pump is not working properly,it may be faulty or just needs to be reset, you may have to take the vehicle to a qualified power steering workshop to have it pressure tested & reset.....hope this helps......cheers.

There is a sqeeling noise coming from the power steering unit

then you either have low power steering fluid or the power steering pump is busted...
check the fluid first...
good luck!

Steers as if it has no power steering

you will notice the rack and pinion if it is the trouble because when you steer the steering wheel the end play is very big because the specifide end of a steering wheel is only 25mm (+)or (-) 5mm.

then if the end play of the steering wheel go on the rack end pinion and look for other guy who can steer the steering wheel
so you can see the movement of the rack end pinion, one thing once the rack end pinion has a oil leakage i'm sure that the trouble was at that point but if no of what i have mentioned may be the trouble goes to the oil pump, but you can notice if the problem is on the steering pump it will create a noice ,hard to steer and you can see the oil will have a bubbles

My 05 Grand prix gt makes a whining sound when you turn the wheel

Sounds liek a power steering pump going bad. Have you checked the steering fluid to make sure it is full?

If it is remove as much of the fluid as you can, turkey baster or anything like that will be fine. Add new fluid and see if that helps.

I'm hearing a very loud sound from my 1999 gram am gt also,

If it's a power steering pump low on fluid, it will buzz real loud and worse when you turn the steering wheel left or right.

Fill with power steering fluid. Look in owners manual for type of fluid.

when fluid is added, turn stering wheel full left and full right to purge trapped air.

If this does not fix, you may have a bad pump.

Please rate as fixya if ths solves your issue.

Rpeort back on rsults and good luck.
