My car wont start after replacing water pomp i lost spark bu the way car came in runing with loud noies from water pump i do have puls at the injecters

Well, the old car still has a pulse, that\'s good. You need to be looking for the coil primary signal, when troubleshooting the ignition and you have no spark. Don\'t stop by asking here, buy a repair manual for your car or look for repair guides to help you do a step by step troubleshooting where you cover the whole process and don\'t miss anything. A repair manual will have the wiring diagram and pretty thorough troubleshooting guides for your Altima. Good place to start looking for where to find that coil primary wire going to coil pack, what color wire and which terminal in the connector it is. See? Makes it so much easier. As a self taught poor mechanic, I have lots of gaps in my knowledge of cars. So I never attempt any job like yours without a repair manual to consult.
Last question: did you put a new timing belt on too? I hope you did, if it is a timing belt driven water pump.
How the computer controls spark timing is after inputs from the crank position sensor and the cam position sensor, it computes the time to send a signal to ignition module to cut the coil primary circuit. That initiates high voltage in the coil secondary windings and right to the spark plug for a spark. So if you got no spark, you need to look at all these things in this paragraph-this is your ignition system, just add in the ignition switch for giggles, lol, and anything else I missed. But that\'s basically it. Do yourself a favor and buy a manual and a digital volt/ohm meter (DVOM), if you don\'t already have one. You can learn on it as you go. Good luck.

I got a 97 cavalier the comprssor is shot and i weant to take out the compressor and find a shorter belt what size belt do i need

I would just leave things the way they are

Why spend time & money when you don't
have to

You don't just change the belt, thus the added expense

You need a bypass kit to replace the compressor

Check online or at parts store to research that

The car is 16 years old ,save your money & buy a
code reader for OBD2 or some tools to work on
your car,they always need updating

Timing belt replace escort 2000 engine

Don't know what answer your looking for !

I would ask -- why did the belt break,I change them
every 6 years & inspect a couple times a year

You remove the belt & debris from it,replace the
broken cover if necessary, with a used one, & replace
any damaged sensor & repair any wiring

If you never work on your own vehicles, then we can't
direct a repair shop as to how to do what they choose to do

If you need to do a timing belt, then you watch a You Tube
Video about that, on your specific car & the diagram should
be on the belt sleeve, if you get a gates or quality belt

1999 mercury villager starts and runs good until it warms up then starts to miss and backfire on acceleration, why

When you get any codes, you do not replace parts
related to the codes

Your old & new knock sensors worked as they should

Did you not think to diagnose why they reported a knocking

Even if a sensor does fail, you still have to know
what they do,how they work & how to test them

If you don't have the abiltity to test components, then leave
todays technology to a repair shop

Things like worn out spark plugs, worn & jumped timing belt,
low fuel pressure,old 100,000 mile O2 Sensors,vacuum leaks,
clogged exhaust convertors, overheating, are what you should be checking.

If you always go over what you do know & not look directly
for the current issue, you will eventually find your main problem,
provided you have factory service manuals & study a few hours a month, year round. If you don't know how it works, you can't
diagnose it.

90,000 miles service, what is necessary

Just remember that it is up to you to educated yourself,
and to know when to have certain work performed

No problem asking lots of questions & using the internet,
or questioning a dealer or repair shop as to what is needed
& what they pitch you that you don't need or immediately

The Timing Belt is one item that is right at 90,000 miles
That is the very end of the road for any timing belt

IF it breaks you may regret the results.

Again,i like to save money & go as far as possible with
everything, but not a timing belt when 90,000 rolls around

I would never go 10 years ,if it had 5,000 miles on it.

What all should I replace while replacing the water Pump on my 2000 ford contour

That's a very good question...but I gather that this car has been taken care of and should be in very good shape and with economy the way it is..I see no reason to get a new car...My advice..Just get the water pump replaced and happy motoring....and don't let any mechanic try to sell you something that you don't need...I'm sure that you've heard the expression"If it ain't broke...don't fix it."..I hope this was heplful...PEACE.....

I recently bought a 2nd hand 2003 galant 2.0, after my mechanic replaced the timing belt, the engine won't start. There was no spark on the cables. What's wrong? Please help.

It is imperative to have a very experienced mechanic performs a timing belt service!! If not done correctly on this vehicle, severe engine damage may occur. I would recommend checking the cam position sensor, this controls spark!! If damaged or disconnected, you will experience a "NO START" condition!!

Timing Belt Problem-6 cylinder Saturn wont' start

If your timing belt broke, then it is possible that the valves in your engine got bent, which won't allow the cylinders to pressurize the fuel/air mixture, and it will let all of the mix to flow freely into the intake/exhaust manifold. This can be checked with a pressure tester that is threaded into the spark plug opening. A mechanic should have one, or you can probably find one at an auto parts store.
