SOURCE: how to reset airbag light on 2008 ford fusion

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat

(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity2_bing.gif problem.

I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s)

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

SOURCE: Replacing console light for shifter selection

you have to remove the console from the car to get to the light. There are two retainers on either side of the console at the very front. push those in and the front will release. then you have to unscrew the rear of the console. two screws are located just below the rear cupholder on either side. the rear console should easily slide back and up. there are two screws exposed on the front console just in front of the emergency brake handle. remove those and you can remove the console. the gearshift lever must be in drive to clear the console. remove the screws holding the shift plate in place and the bulb is exposed

Simple but time consuming . take the center console out and you will find some mini bulbs on the underside. Personnly is not worth the risk of breaking any plastic parts.

driver side of the shift console slide the driver seat back you will see an oval cover pry it out with a small screw driver look inside you will see a black electrical fitting with two blue wires use a long needle nose pliers to gently turn and lower the light fixture(black electrical fitting with two blue wires) pull out of the oval opening change the bulb and reverse the operation no console removal needed..

It will start but it stuck on park it's 2006 ford fusion

lawrence aud, You dont offer much detail but it sounds like you have a shift solenoid problem. This is a safety device that will not let you shift gears until you apply the brakes. Have someone check and see if you have brake lights. If not then you have to replace the brake light switch. The shift solenoid is also controlled by this switch. If this is the case, what you can do to move the vehicle is to disconnect the brake light switch and jump the wires with a piece of wire or a paper clip. This will allow you to move the vehicle but the brake lights will be on constantly. If you have brake lights then the shift solenoid itself is faulty. This can be found in the center console by the shifter if the shifter is on the floor between the seats. If shifter is on the cloumn then the solenoid is in the colunmn. Good luck with this.

I have a 2006 ford fusion sel and the light bulb in center floor console is burned out. How do I change it?

You have to remove the cover around the gearshift, there you'll find the bulb, it's a small 12V bulb, just pull it out of the holder and install a new one.
