Possible thermostat. It is responsible for letting the vehicle reach operating temp is a short time period. If it is stuck open it will take forever for the heater core to heat up.

Second possibility is that you might have a plugged heater core. Let the vehicle run for 10 min then feel the two coolant hoses that go to the firewall on from the engine compartment. They should be relatively the same temp as the upper radiator hose. If the temp is way different from one hose to the next (heater hoses that is) then you have a heater core problem

I changed the heating core but now my windows are fogging up when i turn on my heat and i also smell antifreeze coming thru the vents what seems to be my problem???

heating core has been plumbed in wrong or most likely has a leak in the system, as you are smelling the antifreeze - seems to me like the antifreeze is not reaching the core, have you mistakenly plumbed the intake/out take the wrong way round?, this would cause the windows to fog up as the heat is being taken away fro the core rather than being taken into the heater core

The heat/defrost won't work

This can be caused by a stuck blend door or a clogged heater core. Can you hear the blend door moving when you turn the temp knob? If not, it may have disconnected from the control panel or blend door. If the door works, remove the heater core and flush it or replace it.

1994 Caprice LS. Little to NO heat.

It will be the heater core. If you can smell it inside the car and it's steaming up the windows the core will need to be replaced. Remove the heater core housing and check to make sure its leaking from the core itself. You might get lucky and have a leak from the hoses running to core instead. Hope that helped.

While driving my 95 explorer i noticed the heater wasnt getting hot its luke warm and when i turn on the defroster i start to smell anti freeze and all of the windows fog up

no heat is probably low coolant or bad thermostat, although you have fog and smell ! the heating and cooling systems are closed systems the only way the windows fog is the coolant is hot and steams inside the car due to some leak inside the heater core box. as well as the smell being present. Now it is possible that a little leak has occured where the coolant supply or return line connects to the heater core and is running into the car which is running onto the core and creating steam and smell. hopefully it is a easy clamp tighten fix for you.

Have heat..but windows fog up when the heat is turned on..any suggestioins

Does the air smell like antifreeze? If so your heater core could be leaking. If it doesn't then it sounds like somehow moisture got down into the vents so moisture is heated and blown up causing the windows to fog up.

Good luck

Car is overheating and windshield is fogging up

If your smelling coolant in cab, and window fogging up, check fog if green heater core is going. Over heating could be a couple of things, plugged radiator, water pump, thermostat. To check for water pump Find the top hose, run car check for leaks on ground. While warm or hot wear glove oven mitt or something that you can feel through but will protect from heat, If you feel flow of coolant more the just a trickle its a good thing to replace thermostat. Also check for bubbles in the coolant tank, if there are bubbles your S.O.L. the head gasket is blown
