I purchased them but did not have them installed. the instructions seem simple. 1 with flat bedded tool pry the plastic covers up. 2 open the latches on the crossbars and slide them into position. 3 replace plastic covers. I have not yet try to install them yet with the same worries of scrathing or damaging the covers. The illustration shows th entire cover to come up but does not give a hint to wher you should pry it from.
Anty other info would be appreciated.

SOURCE: Rear liftgate and glass won't
The liftgate actuator(what makes it go up and down) might have failed. Take a test light and make sure it is getting power to it and if it is you will have to replace it.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Chevy
If you can hear the actuator clicking then the plastic ends that attach the rod lock/latch to it has most likely broke off. It's fairly common on the Tahoe and Blazer for this to happen. You can open the hatch and gate by removing the inside plate from latch handle and prying the latch open manually. I hope this helps.
