you have to use a screw driver and hammer to tap it to the left until the tabs line up with the notches on the ring.

Fuel Filter Removal & Installation

The fuel filter on most Mazda cars can be located on a bracket in the left rear of the engine compartment, next to or beneath the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir or as part of the fuel pump assembly.

The filter on Mazda3 models is part of the fuel pump assembly.
The fuel filter is part of the pump assembly. Once the fuel pump is removed, remove the filter retainer and filter. refer to the fuel pump procedure or removal and installation.

there is a safty switch on your car to prevent run dry just add oil and car should start the oil pressure well reset the switch no need to worry simple fix good luck CJ

2005 mazda 6 will turn over but will not start - put more fuel in the tank - no change - it will run if I spray carb cleaner down the throttle bocy - need a manual but cannot find one

check your fuel pump or your filter. it must be the fuel system. hopefully it's just the pump that's probably one of the cheapest parts of the fuel system

Changing fuel pump of Mazda 6 2005

Disconnecct battery. flip fuel pressure switch in trunk, raise car disconnect fuel lines,disconnect fuel pump level sending electrical unit, using a brass ppunch tap lock ring counteerclock wise until loose, remove unit from tank, would highly recommend you remove all the gas from the tank, bwefore atempting this. Good luck.

Mazda 6 diesel wont start

Have you run the car without fuel? There must not be any air in the fuel line... Blead the fuel line of air and try to start it. There should be bleader screws under the hood....
