I have a 1999 GMC Suburban 1500 that started having front end popping/clicking yesterday. Tonight went to back into my parking spot, pulled forward to adjust and it did not move? I can only pull it forward...

Not CV. Red means transmission fluid. On front frame probably means you have a transmission cooler which is a smaller separate radiator that keeps the transmission fluid cool. That's probably where the leak is or the line leading to it. Check your transmission fluid (it has a dipstick) and make sure it shows at the proper level on that dipstick. Add transmission fluid by pouring into same tube dipstick is in. Drive to nearest shop and repair leak.

Transmission fluid is coming out of the breather when you drive for a while and the transmission is not over filled ?

On some of the GM's and Fords I've run across the problem being a bad modulator valve on the transmission. The vacuum line runs to the intake and can cause the trans fluid to wind up there. What kind of vehicle is it. If this didn't help, please re-post.

How do I check the transmission fluid on 1985 Mercury marquis

Start engine, let it get to operating temp. in park pull dip stick out wipe clean, stick in back in, pull it out and check level on dip stick, do not over fill, it will be the dip stick closes to the back of the engine and fire wall.

check your fluid level if its good find the rubber hose from transmission to carb or intake. make sure there is no kinks or cuts. if the rubber hose from the modulater valve on the transmission is not hooked up its not going to shift right hopefully its not your pump or stuck valves

For 1985 suburban does transmission fluid also act as a coolant for the transmission?

Yes. and it is essential that it either passes through the cooler in the radiator or a quality trans cooler.

I have a 1992 GMC Sierra with a 5.7 motor. When

It sounds to me like your transmission is not well. It's working when the fluid is cold but not as it warms up. Pull the dipstick and check your transmission fluid for color and smell. It should be pinkish and smell like oil. My guess is that it will be closer to brown than pink and have a burnt oil smell to it. It the transmission is full, check the level with the trans warm, engine running, in neutral.I'd be shopping for another transmission. If the fluid is below the add mark, you an usually buy yourself some time on the replacement by changing the trans fluid and filter. At the same time add a transmission treatment with the new oil,I've had good luck with Lucas. Hope this helps.

Fluid type in 1985 gmc sierra k2500 4x4 aluminum transfer case

You can use the same ATF as the transmission or a synthetic ATF for GM Transmission. Most guys will use normal ATF and mix Lucas ATF transmission additive to it, to make the fluid last longer. Good luck and hope this helps. There was two types of transfer case available to your truck. NP205 takes 5.1 pints NP208 takes 10.0 pints
