is it missing on your car - these are posted on the hood or core support of all cars. If yours has been in a collision it may not have been replaced. If you find the same car at a used car lot you can get the routing under the hood. you can figure this out without the routing. there are two pullys that are smooth. one is a tensioner and the other an idler. You will need to move the tensioner to get the belt in place. the alternator, crank shaft pully and air conditioner should have grooves and the grooved side of the belt faces them. the opposite side faces the flat pullys. there is only one way that will work. good luck
If you have a after market amp,for the audio system this would be the problem, also the place you purchased the alternator may have something to do with it.Check the large wire on the alternator,or just run another one along with the other one, leave the other one on the alternator.Run it directley to the positive side of the battery.Use a large wire or small cable, and it will take a load off of the alternator,You can if you like, use a larger wire, than the one that is on the alternator.
check the fuel filter to make sure it is open/clean also check the fuel pump pressure to make sure it is okay? check for air leaks in the fuel lines for lose hoses connections and fuel it getting to the throttle body
YOU HAVE THE WRONG ALTERNATOR.ANY TIME YOU BUY ANOTHER ALTERNATOR IT SHOULD BE THE SAME WIRING HOOK UP.TAKE OLD ALTERNATOR PARTS PLACE SO THEY CAN MATCH THEM.THEY PROBABLY GIVE YOU ALTERNATOR FOR GAS ENGINE BY MISTAKE.
Go to the autozone.com website and register the vehicle. It's free and will give you access to an online repair manual for the truck. The wiring diagrams can be found there. ( I checked) Hope this helped and best wishes.
you need to remove the air bag (3 bolts behind the steering wheel) then remove the steering wheel 1 nut but you need a puller. then the column shrouds 3 screws under the column the unplug and replace the clock spring and put it back together.
With a serpentine belt, there is a tensioner pulley, so use a socket on a breaker arm placed on the bolt of the tensioner. Turn it until the belt goes slack. It helps to get someone else to hold that in place while you remove the alternator.
Both serpentine and V-belt are described here, and there are diagrams : http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528003d76c
