tail = parking lamps.= running lights even license plates too rear.
just buy a dead lamp car??????? or out of the blue this....?????
is this car in Canada with rotten law DRL lamps , silly day light running lamps that love to fail ?
the fuse is blown.
or DRL module is burned, (see brown and melting there)> no car told no year, or make no model
not told if this is canada and those silly DRL lamps up there.
in many cars dome lamps run off parking (tail) lamps fuse too
and does the cluster background lamps.
what happens too is the park feed is weak due to DRM module overheating at its pins melt and burn.
I call DRL failure here, seems to me blind as a bat in texting contest of failure.(lol)
I can not see your car, nor what country it sits
even in Europe most oddities like headlamps that change angle as truck cargo goes too heavy, seen it all , the odd.(worldly odds)
where are you.
I had 96 year car usa with DRL that I defeated day 1.<< rare here.
are you in
Ontario m ? or ?
and is Law there 1989 and newer cars there, DRL.
and this GEM.
"Where it gets confusing is that the Ontario Highway Traffic Act doesn't explicitly say that drivers have to use daytime running lights. Therefore, while your vehicle probably has to be equipped with these lights in Canada, it's not necessarily ******* to drive without them in Ontario."
the DRL module on newer cars (canada) in the day time
they modulate the head lamp power feed so that they are dim.
to save burn out fast of expensive head lamps.
the car needs repair, and is clear that. (beyond fuses)
get it fixed is the answer, live humans , not me.

Why would you want the dash lights on with the DRL's ? I wouldn't expect them to be on. You would only have dash lights when conditions require you to have your full lights on. I think you are looking for a fault that's not there. If this doesn't answer your question call the local dealer.
check fuses first then start car put in drive do lights come on yes no if no put car back in park let car run check all the lights first are they on yes no if no turn on the lights do they all work yes no if no could be fuse problem wire problem if yes they work the drl unit could be defective you can call dealer for $ of drl or a aftermarket company like auto parts might carry one or a scrap yard in your area might have a good one
it has command start ???? Is this some kind of aftermarket add on ? This shouldn't have anything to do with the running lamps . unless someone hooked something up in correctly . Does the car have DRL - day time running lamps ?
The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) control module is designed to automatically operate exterior lights depending on outside light conditions.
The DRL control module operates in 2 modes:
• The day mode
In the day mode, the DRL control module turns ON the high beam headlamps at a reduced intensity when the DRL ambient light sensor detects daylight under the following conditions:
- The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
- The headlamps are OFF.
- The park brake is OFF (released).
• The low light mode
In the low light mode, the DRL ambient light sensor detects darkness, turning OFF the high beam headlamps and turning ON the low beam headlamps through circuit 10.
Additionally, the DRL ambient light sensor turns ON the following lamps through circuit 9:
- The park lamps
- The sidemarker lamps
- The license lamps
- The tail lamps
For a 2007, most of the wiring is already in place they pre wire them and if thats an option on the car the put in the parts, i would call the dealer and talk to them about a kit, this suprises me a 2007 without day time running lights all new cars come with that, i would call dealer and ask them about it, maybe someone had them dissconnected?, well i hope this helps you, good luck.
the body control module is most likely bad, take it to the dealer, but first make sure all the bulbs are good, does the drl indicator in the dash blink then go out?if so u got a bad headlight bulb
All you have to do is carry it to your dealer and have them install there IDS scan tool and access programmable parameters in the smart junction box and turn on the feature.
Here is a copy of a broadcast message from Ford(sorry for the caps I just copied and pasted) on this: 20328 2006-2008 EXPLORER 4DR/MOUNTAINEER/2007-2008 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC - DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION SOME 2006-2008 EXPLORER 4DR/MOUNTAINEER, AND 2007-2008 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC VEHICLES MAY HAVE CUSTOMERS THAT DESIRE TO ACTIVATE OR DEACTIVATE THE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL). THE FEATURE HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE IDS AND PDS SCAN TOOLS AS A PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETER. THE PROCEDURE IS TO: SELECT MODULE PROGRAMMING FROM TOOLBOX, SELECT PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETERS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS. DRL WILL BE ONE OF THE SELECTIONS WITH ENABLE/DISABLE AS OPTIONS. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A WARRANTABLE REPAIR. EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/03/2008 -->
The problem with the DRL issue describd in the above posts is the DRl module(it needs to be replaced). The buzzing relay and intermittent on/off of passenger side DRl are indicators that the module needs to be replaced.
There must be a nother way... without un-pluging the bulbs
