You should definetely pick up a manual for your car, because in all honesty that job is quite detailed. Most parts stores carry books for your car, but when you pick one up make sure it covers timing belt swaps. also you should consider changing your water pump at the same time as it will not last forever, and if it goes out you will be looking at doing the whole timing job over again. hope this helps!

Need to know the steps on how to set the timming on a 1991 hona civic

FIRST:
Click on the following free direct Link. It has the Serpentine Belt Diagram and Tensioner location for your specific 1.5L or 1.6L Engine and options (AC/No AC etc.).
It also has the directional diagrams on how to rotate the Adjustment Bolts on both the Alternator and Power Steering to loosen the belts, inorder to both remove and reinstall the belts.

SECOND:
Click on the following free direct Link. It has the Timing: Belt and Mark Diagrams for your 1991 Honda Civic. Plus additional Instructional and Directional Diagrams.

I would also strongly suggest purchasing either a Haynes or Chilton Manual, available at most auto parts stores. It has specific information you will need incuding the Torque Specifications for each and every Bolt and Nut you will be removing. Cost is $20-$25 fo the manuals.

Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!

My 1991 honda civic motorized seat belt problem?

Your motor for the seat belt is no good you need to replkace it , it should not cost no more the $ 100.00 dollars or less it all depends on whether or not you choose to buy a new one or you go to a salvage yard mysfl I would go to a salvage yard to see if that they have one or not first before you buy a new one.

Your timming belt has jumped a tooth.Remove the covers and check that all teeth are ok.Then tighten or change the timming belt.I would fit a new timming belt.Has it is costly when they fail.Good luck.pippall.

I would like to know how to install a time belt for honda 91

This is a job for the experienced mechanic.
But if you are going to attempt this yourself, then get yourself a decent repair manual. If you are not a mechanic i would advise taking to a mechanic.

2003 Honda Civic -LX Timing belt

90000 Miles on the Timing Belt. Do not let this go! A timing belt failure can cause internal engine problems.

Should cost around 200 or so, depending upon your local labor rates.

Good Luck!
